I just noticed that for less than $200 I can upgrade our 9b cabin to 8A on the Fantasy. We've been on the Fantasy only once and were on deck 5 in Aft. Loved the size of the family deluxe cabin, but hated the location because of the horrible vibrations. We've always had mid-ship deck 2 on the Magic and Wonder and have loved the locations, but not the smaller size of it being just deluxe OV. I know the Fantasy 9bs are even smaller than the Magic/Wonder. I've always thought the split lay-out of a 8A looks really cool and would like to try it, but am nervous about it being so far forward. Will I feel like I'm on a roller coaster the whole time? I used seasickness pills and sea bands last cruise and still got ill on both sea days.

Since you are so prone to sea sickness you might want to talk to your doctor about the prescription patch whether you change rooms or not.

We were in an 8A this March. The room was awesome! A ton of space and the two portholes were great. The room was so far out of the way, it was super quiet. I won't book one again, though. The seas were incredibly rough and the up and down motion at the front of the ship was tough to take (in the room, in the theater, etc.). It could have just been our sailing, but I won't chance it that far forward again. Some people love that motion, I'm just not one of them.

Thanks for the replies, I plan on talking to my dr about the patch. We had rough seas last Jan on our 2 sea days and it was not good. I also just saw that the 8A room doesn't have the split bath, that wouldn't work for us.
