I know the trails are closed, but I was wondering if anyone knew why they closed. Im sure the hurricanes had to of had some impact as to why they closed.

They where closed before the Hurricannes. They have become over grown with weeds and the boarded walk has become rotten and Disney has not decided to maintain them. The nature walk trail between WL and FW is still upkeeped. This is a mile walk or bike ride.

Thats sad that they closed. I tried to walk them in May and they where in really bad shape and I wondered what happened to them. I tried to keep going even after it was closed off but it was so overgrown I couldnt go that far. The buildings they had there were also in bad shape. I wish they were still open because I was never able to walk them.

My family and I miss this too. One of our favorite things to do was to walk the Swamp Trail. I wish they would open it back up. And River Country!!

On our honeymoon in 98 we walked the swamp trail with teh boardwalk still open is was great we sat in one spot with a bench and fed the fish and saw the occasional small alligator swim by. When we went back in 99 the trail was boarded up so we couldn't walk it anymore I had wanted to show my dad and brother the trail but they never got to see it. Hey FTWG do you have those images a little larger I would love to have a copy of each of them if you do not mind?

Yeah, I have them on a disc someplace at home. PM me and I will see what I can dig up when I get back. I am in the middle of no place with the Army right now, so I really can't do too much.
