My sister and I are heading down to Fort Wilderness from NJ in November. There are 10 of us all together. My sister and her family are traveling by car and we are taking our rv. We have stayed there before and love it there. My sister was lucky enough to check in on Saturday, but we were not as fortunate due to it being booked so we have to wait until Sunday to check in. We are all traveling down together. My question is, does anyone know if Disney will let us park our rv in the parking lot and sleep there overnight Saturday? Otherwise there is a campground near by we can stay at, but it would just be easier to be there.

Yes we know what the answer is. It will be no. If you have a reservation for a Sunday arrival, you can enter the Fort and check in starting 605am Sunday morning. There is a "no boondocking" policy at FW.

Nobody (private campgrounds, state parks, Disney) is going to give something away for free that they should be paid for. There's also a "no boondocking" policy at Wal-Marts, etc. in the Central Florida area because of local laws denying it. Everybody wants to paid for overnight stays and collect the associated tax revenue.

So you'll have to plan on staying at your Plan B campground nearby.

That's what I figured. Thanks Bama Ed

On a related question - if I show up in the morning and the site isn't ready, can I drop my trailer in the lot and take the truck to run errands, or will both vehicles be expected to remain?

I would also keep trying for a site for the Saturday. Takes a couple minutes a day and you might get lucky.

You can. Tell the CM checking you in about your plans because they may want to give you a parking pass for a trailer window while it's in the overflow lot. Or they may not require it for a short same-day stay. But to answer your question, you can drop it and go run errands if you need to.

Even if your site is not ready, you could drop in overflow, as you will be checked in. There are not parking passes being issued anymore, as all lots are MB controlled.

1) No, we will not.
2) You are asking to get a night free.
3) We do not give out free nights.
4) There are several nearby campgrounds where you should be able to book a night, then move to FW the next day.
