Fort wilderness cabins and perishables

Question for anyone who can help.....I just booked a one night reservation for a cabin for the night before our WL trip begins in August. We are planning to arrive in the morning and I was going to do online check in. Can we still stop at the check in to drop off luggage and perishables until our cabin is ready? Does FW have a cold place to store a small soft sided cooler of Perishables? Thanks!

Yes, Bell Services will store it, and they can also deliver it to your cabin.

When you do your online check in select an early arrival time. The cabin might be ready early and you could put the items right in the cabin. I've had good luck doing this!

Thank you! Checked in online this morning for the first time... and saw I could put an arrival time on the reservation.(previous stays at other on site rooms we simply went to the front desk!). Maybe we will have some luck...

As long as you are not "picky", you can check into any available cabin (and any resort room) starting at 605am in the morning of your arrival day.

Every arriving guest has a room/cabin pre-assigned before arrival based on empty available units the night before, your planned arrival time (if entered on your MDE Early Online Checkin), and guests leaving that day where the room/cabin would have to be cleaned/prepared for a new guest.

If you arrive at FW on your check-in morning and they say your cabin is not ready, ask if there is "any cabin available right now" and they will swap you over to one assuming they're not slammed full. You can go and drop your things at the cabin including your perishables. Of course, if you show up at the early arrival time, you might get an empty one that's already waiting for you.

Again, if you are willing to take ANY available cabin and aren't picky as to if its near a bus stop or not, near the pool or not, etc., you might get in just fine.

Wonderful!! I didn’t put any requests in when I did the online check hoping for this! We have never stayed at fort wilderness before so we are just happy to be there! Also we are only staying one night before we move to WL for the rest of our trip so location isn’t an issue. Our plan is to drop the stuff and head to a park. In the evening hoping the weather cooperates for the singalong and movie too!! We are officially a family of six so this one night at a cabin is the test drive we want to see if we book one for our next vacation!!!
