Has anyone recently stayed at the cabins in the Fort Wilderness? Can you give me any insight as to how nice they are, which loop is best, do we need to rent a golf cart to get around, what are the "not to be missed" things to do?

Does anyone have any recent photo's of the cabins that they wouldn't mind sharing? I have seen a couple of differnet photo's, one on the disneyworld web sight and another on a disney campsite website and they looked pretty different.

We are really excited about staying here. We will be here at the end of January.

Thanks for your help!!

Actually we stayed there a while ago Aug 98. We were in loop 2300, the cabins there are a little older but very nice and lots of room. We did not rent a golf cart and probably would not have used it. The bus stop is very close as well as the smaller pool, we walked. There seemed never to be more than one or two families at that pool when we were there. When we arrived we noticed a few ants in the bed room but a phone call and 10 minutes later they were taken care of. We really liked being able to cook a few of our own meals (I love to cook). We had breakfast there in the morning and there is a Walmart very close if you have a car, so we had the fridge nicely stocked. Now we have a camper and I am looking forward to trying one of the camp sites.

We were there in 2002. LOVED THEM. Took my 82 year old father and he stayed there all the time and thoroughly enjoyed himself. We were on the first loop and had a handicapped cabin because of him. A golf cart would have been great, but you can make it without...Pool is nice, not themed. I could live forever in the cabins! Tons of room...We had 5 in them!!!!! Super kitchen...beautifully decorated.

We will be there 1/31-2/5. Here are some pictures someone referred me to. All the cabins have been updated.

the DIS Camping at WDW Board is very helpful. We are so looking forward to our first visit there.

See you there!

Oh, and the 2500 and 2600 loops are near the laundrdy, pool, and if you ask for near the bus stop you are even closer. This is what I am told anyway. :)

I will be able to answer in just a few short weeks!!!! We are leaving the 17th and staying through the 26th. I can't wait.

Come and visit us on the Fort Wilderness board - HERE and you'll get lots of ideas, hints, etc. from all the nice people that have stayed at FW! :teeth:
