Fort thefts.... They got ME !!

Not sure if ya'll remember, but my bike was stolen from the marina last October. We had been at MK for 14 hours. It was midnight, we were all exhausted and I had to carry our 5 YO DD back to the camper - 500 loop - since hubby was dealing with the manager on duty. They called Orange County PD, who came to our campsite (1:30am) and took a police report. That manager - wish I could remember the name - was so nice and helpful, but we understood his hands were tied. Wasn't his fault, it was mine for not locking the bike up. But we've NEVER locked our bikes up, we've always had this feeling that campers were a "different breed", if you will. The manager had to remind us that many other guests from other hotels come to FW for different things/dinner/shows, etc. Anywho - our fault. Santa brought me a new bike AND A LOCK so I'm good to go now!
Sorry Disney John. It's amazing what people will do and what they feel like they have to resort to. I hope you didn't let them steal your magic.

I hope you didn't let them steal your magic.

:thumbsup2

Man, I was upset that somebody stole my laundry soap and quarters a couple weeks ago in the 2000 loop! Who'da thought? I guess it just goes to show....you shouldn't let your guard down, even in Disney.

The bottom line is that people know that Disney doesn't enforce their rules. So why have them at all. When we were there for the 25th, we rented a golf cart for my Dad. My son was 16 with a learners permit and he wanted to drive the golf cart. We told him know because the rules say that you have to be 16 with a valid drivers license, not a permit. Not rocket science. Just follow the rules.

Sorry to hear about the theft. Some people just want to destroy the Magic, don't they.

Last trip someone had stolen our Beer cooler. The next day when talking to some friends one of them asked if I have checked the beach behind the 300 loop. I went back there and there sat my cooler with no beer in it.

It is a nice place to drink a beer.

Damn Otters!!!!!!!!

GIVE a man a beer and he'll drink it.

TEACH him where you keep your beer, and he'll drink it all.

As far as the kids shooting paintball guns and nothing being done I'd have to take the law in my own hands. My cousin was big into them a few years ago and I've seen the power they have. Why do you think they wear so much protection.
This would have been my DH too!!! He would have followed them back to their campsite and man there would have been hell to pay. And if the parents ignored him there would have been police involved and charges filed. No one messes with the RV!!!

And we got our house paintballed a couple of years ago. Damn brats went through the entire neighborhood just paintballing houses out of their car windows. Punks!!! Had the police out but they were looking for the kids. They took our complaint but never found them. But DH was out on a cold March night power washing the house. :sad2:

I spoke with Manager Jeff Martin the other day and "spoke my peace" about all of my recent issues at the Fort. (thefts, overcharged, lack of security) I gave him an earfull and he listened to me for a LONG time. He was really very nice and I felt bad for him after it was all over with because I know it is not really his fault that all of that stuff happened to me at the Fort. He was really nice and I think that he really wants to see the Fort improve for us.

To make a long story short, Mr. Martin made me feel better about the future of the Fort, and we agreed on a way to resolve my complaints about my charger getting stolen without my having to file a claim.

I hope that his ideas of improving safety and security at the Fort, do not fall on deaf ears at corporate HQ.

Bobby just called. He and Mr. Martin have decided to close the fort. After my visit.

I'm a rock star.

Yes, you are, Jim. Yes, you are.

:tiptoe:

I don't see the resemblance!

Dave and or Linda......You really need to follow Deb's lead on this. When Jim gets like this.....it's best to just humor him.:lmao::rolleyes1

We spoke with Jeff Martin about an issue that we had with The Fort. I agree, he really does care and wants to see improvements at The Fort. Hopefully, he can convince everyone else involved in the decision making process.
