We love doing the Fort and it is the only place we stay. We drive our travel trailer down from CT. Summer of 2015 I was hoping to start entertaining the idea with my husband about doing a land and sea stay (camping at the Fort and Disney Cruise). So many questions though, is there a pace to keep the trailer while on the cruise, can you leave it at the Fort, does it matter if you do the cruise first or the Fort first? Please help, I am good with the Fort and I know booking, deals, etc like the back of my hand, but I am clueless on the cruise. Is there a discount to do a land/sea stay?
Thanks in advance

We tent camp, so I can't help you with trailer questions. I haven't encountered Land/Sea discounts, and have only (in the last few months) become aware of any combined vacations. They used to occur in the late 90's, but stopped for a while. I know they are separate entities.

We prefer the campgrounds first, then cruise. Being we tent camp, it's easier to pull it all together once onboard the ship as opposed to once home. This is because the kids are being entertained at the clubs. I just would feel too disheveled doing it the other way around. Our tent is an ultralight and, together with all the other gear, packs down and into a hike pack.

I'll be watching your other replies as, at some point, we intend to use a trailer at the Fort.

This topic comes up sometimes.

The answer has been that sometimes you CAN leave the RV at the Fort overflow lot but it's not automatically approved. It helps if you stay at the Fort first. Here is a thread I found on searching the forum (using the Search tool on the words "Fort" and "cruise").

You might try using the search some more on these terms and other similar.

There is a storage facility for rvs in Celebration that has weekly rates. Their number is 321-939-4036. We keep ours there year round, it is a very nice facility. About 10 minutes from the fort if you go straight out the Magic Kingdom gates on World Drive.

Parking? Not sure about that, but finding a storage place would be a good idea unless you want to park it hooked up at the Jetty park over in Port Canaveral. It would be very expensive to pay for parking at the port.

When to go? Personally I would do the cruise after the Fort Stay. Why? Because on a cruise you are waited on hand and foot. Just about everything is included. I personally think it would be hard to cruise and then come back to my 5th wheel and not be able to order room service. LOL!

Discounts for a land and sea vacation. Not really, because it's all booked separately.

If you look under Disney's cruise website it shows you how much over sized vehicle parking is. It also depends on the length of your cruise. I guess you would have to sort out the prices and see which is the best way to go. Standard vehicle parking at the port is $15/ day I believe.

:scratchin I do recall that when we went on our Disney Cruise (almost 2 years ago), I remember seeing an RV parked at the terminal. It was there when we left and still there when we returned. (We were on a 4 day cruise). So, I do imagine there is parking available to accomodate oversized vehicles. This was a pick up with a 5th wheel in tow.
