Fort Reservation Question

Have a question for you seasoned campers regarding some res stalking I've been doing.

We are going to the world December 10-12 and we currently have a reservation at WL. Ideally, we'd like to be at the Fort since it's Christmastime, but everything has been booked, both in the cabins and campground.

Today, I randomly tried getting something for just 12/10 and a premium site came up. In fact, it looks like there are several premium sites for that night available. I booked it. So....I'm thinking that I might be able to get a single night separate reservation for 12/11 for a premium site! Sooooo excited!

And then, the blonde kicked in.

What if they didn't honor two separate reservations like that? Or what if we were forced to move sites after the first night? Not fun for only a weekend stay. DH would kill me.

So.....then I'm thinking that I should just keep stalking the res site for a continous site or cabin reservation and be happy at WL if availability doesn't pop up.

Advice? Thoughts??

It shouldn't be a problem if the 11th does pop up. FYI, I just looked for the 7th - 13th and partial sites and the cabins show up for those dates. So if you wanted to go with a cabin, you could book the week, then call back and cancel the extra days.

Or if you could live with a partial hookup for two nights, then do the same thing.

Brilliant! It worked! Got in 12/8-12 to a cabin for only $40 more per night than WL! I guess it's a marketing thing, save it for the people staying more nights..... Wonder if I should cancel those other days now or wait a couple of weeks...

Thank you clkelley!

I always wait until the week prior to cancel any unneeded days. This way, if something chaged and I could go early or stay later, I ahve the option. Labor Day weekend is a prime example. I booked 1 Sep through 6 Sep with the intention of cancelling the 1st and 2nd. As luck would have it, I found out today that I can get out of work for the 2 extra days and now use all of the days. The DW may still have to work, but heck, she works at Disney, so her commute will be less for those days. Id hang onto them until right before, just in case.

You are so right! Not long after I wrote that last post, a friend of mine called and she's staying that weekend, but a day earlier as well. And, my DH just came home and said that he might want to keep the extra days anyway. Might have to take my girls out of school Poor things. They might be devastated. :lmao:
