The rode to Fort Pickens has finally been re-opened after being wiped out by Hurricane's Ivan and Dennis.

The campground is open, BUT there is no electricity or water yet.
All of the large pine trees which shaded most of the sites in the larger of the two campgrounds are gone...they were killed/damaged by the storms and had to be removed.
so glad to see one of my most favorite places in the world has re-opened...it's not the same as it used to be, but it is still a beautiful place.
