Fort Lauderdale Any tips?

We are heading down to Ft Lauderdale for the air show and will be spending almost a full week. ANy suggestions on restaurants, things to do, side trips etc. the kids are young.

I've never been to Ft. Lauderdale. I'll just bump this back to page one for you

There is the Science Museum. We went on a windy day this past Feb. The kids enjoyed it. Also you might want to go to Las Olas (Riverwalk, Riverview, RiverFront?) There are a couple of places to eat there. Depending on what night of the week there is music playing. Depending on where your staying I think you can even catch a water taxi there.

If you want to do some shopping there is the Sawgrass Mall which is an outlet. There is a Character Warehouse , also a Rainforest Cafe and Movie theater and game room.

Oh one more place to eat that was fun. Taverna Oppa it's located in Hollywood, Fl. It is a greek restuarant. They get you dancing on the table and there are napkins, instead of dishes, flying through the air. Really fun, Really LOUD, but really fun.

My best advice would be to stay away from 'The Jungle Queen' riverboat tour!! We did this when we visited my dad in Pompano Beach. While it was kind of nice to see all the huge mansions in Ft. Lauderdale from the water way, the 'island' at the end of the trip was, well let's just say that it was not what we expected. Just a way to separate us from our money. Very touristy.
We did like RiverWalk at night tho. That was really fun. All in all we liked Ft. Lauderdale.
