It drives me mad when I check into a hotel and ask for non smoking - and they say 'all our rooms are non smoking' and I have to explain they might be now but that doesn't mean they're not going to set off my asthma if they weren't in the past.
More than once have I then appeared in reception at 3am wheezing and coughing at them asking to be moved there and then as they obviously didn't believe it would make a difference and stuck me in a 'fake' non smoking room - they don't always smell, trust me. Offering to sleep in reception tends to work if they aren't then sympathetic!!!
It's a total pain, but at least at Disney you won't get what happened to me in london recently. I had a lovely non smoking room in a hotel but had to move as smoke was coming up from the smoking floor below into my bathroom - cue 3am wheezing and the taste of smoke in my mouth for the next 12 hours.
