Formal Night

Can anyone tell me how many formal nights/semi formal nights there are on the 7-day western cruise? When they say formal, is a suit and tie good for a man or is it customary to wear tuxedo's and gowns? what about the kids?

I believe that there is both a formal and a semi-formal night on the 7-day. My DH wore a suit not a tux and my boys just wore a shirt, vest and tie for both nights. Don't stress about it too much like I did!! You will see all kinds of dress and you will fit right in wearing whatever you choose.

There is one semi formal night and one formal night on the Western 7night cruises....I beleive the first is Formal night which is on Monday and Semi formal is on Thursday (Capt. gala). My DH wore a suit and tie to both nights. It was real mixed on what the men wore...I'd say there were more suits and ties..but there was also a good number of tuxes out there.....either will work.

My DH wore a suit both nights - DS's wore a suit jacket - dress shirt and tie for the formal - the semi formal night was our night in Palo's so again DH wore suit and the kids wore their bathing suits to Pluto's Dog house and then ordered in from room service. We tried to get them to go to the regular rotation but they just wanted to hang out which ended up being ok by us. The variety of what people wear is really amazing. You will see people on formal night in shorts - We also saw people at brunch in shorts at Palos which DH was miffed that I made him wear long pants but oh well (we will follow the rules lol). The kids were dressed from Tux's to shorts and sandals. Although they do recommend what you should wear - it is like anything not everyone will follow the suggested dress code.

I just finally figured out what we will wear. The girls were going to wear Princess costume/dresses. My brother saw some real nice ones at WDW and I was going to call the store. But then my younger DD 4 decided to be Sleeping Beauty , which we already have that dress. It is a pretty pink costume that Disney sold last year. Then old DD was going to be Belle, but then I came up with a great idea. I asked her if she wants to wear her 1st communion dress and she LOVES that idea! She is so happy she gets to wear it again and so am I! I am wearing a black dress that I borrowed from my sis. Unless I find something on a clearance rack that I like better. DH is going to wear a tux.
