Yesterday I took my DD to Dillards and we found a beautiful formal for next year's Spring Formal. Full price it was $139 and we got it for $34.75. It is gorgeous! They had a rack of short and a rack of long that were 75% off and also a couple of 50% off racks that we didn't look at. We had also won a $10 gift card in the spring when they had their big Swim Suit Spectatular. With 2DD's (almost 14 and15 1/2) this is going to be a summer tradition at our house.

Nice I love finding deals like that!!! It is even more special when the girls eyes light up when you tell them yes they can get it!

Great tip! I guess they always go on sale once prom season is over. Glad she found one and you saved yourself the headache of searching for a dress when every other girl in your area is looking also!

I got 2 formal dresses from Dillards last week for the formal nights on the cruise!!! One dress was $25 and the other was $40 and the original price was over $100.

Wow! What type of store is Dillard's? We don't have any around here. I lucked out in high school and college and found my prom/formal gowns at a surplus/salvage store. I didn't pay more than $20 for any of them, and I looked just as good as my friends did in their $200 dresses! I'm glad you could find such a bargain. I'm hoping that my nieces will be interested in my dresses in a year or two. I don't know when I'm going to wear them again!

It's a department store. Thanks for posting OP, I've been looking for some reasonably priced formalwear for our Disney cruise, I'll have to make a run over to Dillard's.

Last summer we found a rounder of formals at Dillards all marked down to just $9.99
I couldn't believe it! There were some really beautiful dresses, though limited sizes of course.
I actually bought several and donated them to a program that loans out prom dresses to girls who can't afford them. How could I not at that price?

DD got the dress she wore to prom this year at Dillards (not from the $9.99 rack, but still a great deal)
Made the absolutely perfect, must have, prom just won't be the same without them designer shoes and matching clutch a bit easier to justify.

And yes, both the shoes and the clutch cost more than the dress.
Go figure. :rolleyes1
She did look gorgeous and very pulled together though.
