Hi - Do you girls normally wear their princess dresses (costume) to formal dining? When else do they wear their princess dress on the cruise? I just wanted to know how many I should bring. Is their a dress up nite for princesses?

Thank you.

We cruised on the Dream over Spring Break and I saw little princesses at dinner every night. After dinner I saw them dancing in the atrium to whatever live music was playing. I even saw some dancing in the atrium when there wasn't any music playing. They were so sweet. My girls (13 and 16) still love Disney, but our Princess dress up days are behind them. I loved seeing the little princesses and pirates in their costumes! IMO your daughter would not ever be out of place in a princess dress on DCL. Have fun!!!!!

A lot of little girls also wear their dresses to the princess meet and greets.

Our 7 nt Alaskan cruise had a Frozen night, so DD12 wore her Elsa dress to dinner that night. One night the dinner menu was Prince and Princess, so both DD12 and DD16 wore little tiaras to dinner.

Really, girls can wear their princess dresses any night, formal or otherwise--it IS a Disney cruise after all!

Character breakfasts, Princess Meet and Greets, Dinner and pretty much any time they please. And Princess gowns to the PJ party in the Club.

On my last cruise (7 night Eastern Carribean) I brought a whole suitcase of clothes for my then 4 year old. She wore the costumes I brought almost all day every day (and wasn't out of place). She did wear regular clothes for the ports and a fancy dress for formal night, but I brought home about 2/3 of her clothes never worn. For the next cruise, I'm probably just going to bring her less clothes. I think it can be as much or as little costume time as your child wants, or as much as you want if they still let you dress her. :) I'm not even sure I brought a costume along for our 4-night Dream cruise when she was 3, and she was fine without it at that age. I was a little surprised that 4-year-old her wanted costumes all the time.

My daughter is 4 and she wants to wear her princess dresses every night at dinner. And she would probably wear them all day too if i let her. You will see little girls like my daughter in them all the time and some that never wear them. So, it should be completely up to what you think she would want and what you want to have to pack. :)

We saw a mix of princess gowns, Sunday dresses and casual clothes at dinner. We packed different costumes as well but our ended up wearing Elsa for most of the day after the meet and greet We thought about changing gowns to match the princesses at their different meet times but, time just gets away and changing out can be a bit stressful

My daughter wore a princess dress to every dinner on both of our 7 night cruises, they made it SO special for her, announcing 'princess in the house' and clapping and bowing every time she walked into the dining room, she LOVED it. We brought 3/4 dresses and she rotated over the course of the week.

on the cruise is the best time to fulfill every little girls dream. She can wear a princess dress 24/7.
perfectly acceptable :cloud9:

Or if a little girl prefers pirates to princesses (yes, it's possible), she can dress like a pirate every night. :)

my dd5 wore a different princess dress every night of our 7 night cruise. We saw quite a few little girls do that every night.
