Lets say I buy 300 pts total resale....

250 at Saratoga and 50 at BCV

Will I still be able to use 300 pts to book 11 months out at BCV and Vice Versa?

Let me help because I asked the same question last week and someone here helped me out. You could only book your 50 points 11 months out at that home resort. The 250 could be booked 11 months out at SSR.

You would have only the 7 month lead time if you booked across the two resorts.

Good luck !

Never mind that idea...is there anything they have not thought of?????

Out of curiousity did you buy yet? if so resale? if so from whom and what price??

You could start by checking the sponsor here, The Timeshare Store. A lot of people recommend it. It will give you an idea of current prices, and whats available. You could always call Disney directly and maybe you will get a guide who can check on re-sales. However, I was told that your original purchase through Disney has to be 150 points.

How did the purchasing process go? Did you finnance? If so, did all go smooth w/ Disney? I'm thinking about jumpin gon 300 pts through Disney myself...

HELPDESKGUY - we just bought through a resale through the sponsor here, The Timeshare Store. It went great, very smooth process. It was a little bit of a nail-biter waiting to see if we passed ROFR (Right of First Refusal) but we were pleased with the process. We paid $77 per point for 170 pts at VWL. Hope that helps.

I have only done the deposit at this point. We are awaiting the FedEX package with the paperwork. We did 300 at SSR and split it into two contracts of 150 each. Others out here can speak to how the whole process went. We are in the middle of it at this point.

Salesman was very knowledgable and helpful. Most of my questions had already been answered by the kind experts on this board. It is a great reference.

One note about why we did 150 and then a 150 add on. Again - thanks to the experts out here for suggesting it. If you have one contract for 300, you cannot sell off a subset. If you have a contract for 150 and an addition of 150, you can always sell off half if life or finances demand it. Also - if you have 2 children like we do, it makes willing the disney membership less messy.

Good luck and use this board. There are a lot of friendly, knowledgable and helpful people out here.....

Helpdeskguy,

I am buying a resale through the sponsor of this board, Timeshare Store. It has all gone smoothly so far. I just passed ROFR this past Thursday.

I'm buying 200 points at VWL, $76 per point.

Have you read throught this thread:

Anyone Made it through (or not made it through) ROFR Lately?

It is a great thread and really helped me out during the process.

I had thought about SSR but decided I really wanted VWL as my home resort.

HELPDESKGUY abd DVC-curious, are ya'll doing the $85 and no current points or the $90 and get 2004 points?

helpdeskguy - It's probably not what you want, but by banking and borrowing, you could have 100 points at BCV every other year or 150 every third year. Anything else, you'd have to split.

Hey AC,

We opted for the $85 and no MF's until late in the year (October).

The math worked for us... :teacher:
