Forgetting Where You Hid Something

All the time. One year I forgot to pack away the baby Jesus from our nativity so I put it somewhere for the next year. I never found it, even when we moved. I can only imagine what the new owners thought if they found the baby Jesus hidden in some weird place.

Looking for things that either I've hidden or my housekeeper has put in the wrong place is how I get my daily exercise. The latest is a Miles from Tomorrowland toy that I bought as a Christmas present for our 2 year old grandson. Luckily, I bought him about a bunch of other things. When I end up finding it later, he'll be excited for the new surprise.

I've never found the need to hide any medications.
Gifts go in the closet in my office. I'm the only one that goes in there.
However, my glasses seem to keep moving around the house

I must admit, that St. Anthony and I are pretty chummy. ;) :lmao:

"Tony, Tony look around
Something's lost and must be found."
We have a cat that seems to have the power to find things. Strangest one was one evening we were hanging out in the garage like we do every night. It's a detached garage that is like a house that the cars live in. We carry the cats out there with us.

So I was fiddling with my wedding ring, had it off my finger, when Squidget jumped into my lap. I put the ring next to me on the couch. A little later my Wife says "Where's your ring?" I look and it's gone. Searched all over the couch and under it. Next day I moved every piece of furniture and still didn't find it.

Exactly one week later we are in the house and we hear something hit and roll across the floor. We looked and there's my ring rolling across the floor with Squidget standing there. Where was it and how did it get from the garage to the house? We'll never know.

We remodeled last year. Best I can figure I had 30 different people in and out of my house doing various jobs. We hid stuff, but let me say, remodeling is worse than moving. There were times we had 7 rooms of furniture in 2 rooms, and those 2 rooms changed several times. Poor guy putting the laminate flooring in my closet had a silver dollar fall on him every time he hammered a plank, I had forgotten I hadn't gotten those coins in the safe deposit box at the bank, and had them on the package shelf in the closet.
Still haven't found my alarm clock. It was a small travel alarm clock that I suspect got wrapped up in plastic and hauled to the dump after they textured the ceiling in the master bed room.

Not so much with hiding gifts, but quite often I'll store something that's out of season and forget where. I finally started a notebook, and I write it down now.

And, of course, it's always in the LAST place you look. ;)

Well. naturally it's in the last place you look because once you find it, you don't look anymore!

I was fussing at my DDs the other day because I couldn't find my handicapped parking placard. I looked in the console, under the seats, in the door side pockets, behind the driver's side sun visor...unfortunately, I didn't look in the LOGICAL place - behind the passenger side sun visor, which is where it's kept in their cars because I'm always a passenger in their cars.
