Forgetting Where You Hid Something

My niece cat/house sat while we were on vacation. She's pretty responsible and trustworthy and really overly innocent for a 21 year-old; I don't need to worry about her. She does have some new friends that seem nice, but I don't know them. In case they ended up visiting while I was gone I did put away some valuables and some medications. Apparently I hid the muscle relaxers for my neck spasms a little too well because I can't find them anywhere! And no, they weren't taken because she didn't have anyone over and frankly, I had much better drugs from my wrist surgery that I forgot to hide that didn't go missing.

Ever hide anything a little too well? I wonder where I'm going to find them. Must be a very clever spot!

I've done that. I found a Christmas gift for DGS that I hid away last fall. I didn't find it until I did my fall housecleaning THIS fall!

Yes, I'm quite good at hiding things from myself. The good news? It's here somewhere and will show up....eventually. ;)

My 7 year old was just talking about second Christmas, the year I forgot multiple gifts for two of my kids. Put them by the little trees they had in their rooms a couple of days later.

I can't find one of my dd's stocking stuffers right now. I know the general area but I can't seem to find it :)

I bought my sister some Pandora earrings on sale in July 2013 and put them away 'somewhere safe' for Christmas. I finally found them last month!

I do this constantly. One of the worst feelings. It'll turn up.....just no telling when. Did you have refills on that prescription?
Yes, luckily I have a few refills which I never ever thought I'd have to use since they dispensed 60! Bad news is the employee pharmacy is closed til Monday. My trigger point injections have worn off and I'm getting some rip roaring headaches.

I think it's time I just get a locking file cabinet. I can finally organize my important papers and I can lock up stuff like this if/when needed.

My mother is absolutely notorious for misplacing Christmas gifts. Christmas in July is a real thing in our family!

And, of course, it's always in the LAST place you look. ;)

I often forget that I already bought something. Like cans of pumpkin/evaporated milk for pie. Now I have two. Or some trinkets for DD's Christmas gifts. I bought some early in December and put the bag in the closet. Then I forgot about them and bought some more a few days ago. Fortunately no duplicates.

Oh yes I have, it drives me crazy. If it is some important I pray to St. Anthony to help me and some how it shows up.

I lost an iPod that I hid from my kids a few years ago. I hid it so successfully from my kids that, even I have yet to locate it nearly 4 years later.
It's either that or it was stolen.

My Wife calls that "organizing". If things get too cluttered she will start putting things away and she'll forget what she put where. If I can't find something I'll say it got "organized".

We have had several extra Christmas since I used to put things in a safe place. Of course it was a safe place since no one knew where they were. I have put a couple of necklaces away in a safe place. They are still there after 6 yrs. since I can't remember where that safe place is. Hopefully one day I will find them.

After my mother passed away we kept finding money hidden all over the house. In books, under a cake cover, between dishes.

I must admit, that St. Anthony and I are pretty chummy. ;) :lmao:

Something's lost and must be found."
