Forget it - not worth the effort

As a public board we all need to be prepared for whatever anyone posts
Wise, wise words.

I think your story (from what I can gather from the quoted posts) could happen, I mean we all have bad days....
Well-put, but someone "having a bad day" belies the original sentiment, that the comment was "totally unacceptable," so I'm not sure (for good or ill) that your sentiment provides the kind of support for the OP that she was perhaps expecting.

posting for support and for fellow DIS'ers reactions are two different things.

Where do you people get this stuff,QUOTE]

Why, at the Dis, of course! :cheer2:
Where? Nobody in this thread attacked the OP. If you consider it attacking to someone to question them or correct them then I'm sorry. However I think that when someone is wrong it is your duty to correct them, and when something is rumored you shouldn't spread it unless you know it to be fact.

I agree, that is what I don't understand about this thread...I had to reread it several times to see where the poster was "attacked" and I just don't see it...it seems no one else is allowed to disagree...and I still think deleting all your posts leads to speculation....I mean, what is the big deal of leaving them up there even though it was second hand info?

I have a hard time believing so many of you dont "get" that the OP felt attacked. If I posted that and got all those responses basically saying I was "lying" or my friend was "lying" of course I would feel attacked.

Do you not realize that those responses you gave definitely came across as not believing this could possibly happen and MUST be a lie or made up or SOMETHING? I mean something like this could NEVER happen at WDW

Lets face it. These are regular people doing a job and they mess up sometimes. The OP was only pointing out what someone observed. Is that really so hard to believe and how in the world would you even consider this "outrageous"?

I am not one of the ones who thought that the story she relayed was outrageous - I think what is more outrageous is that she thought everyone was going to agree with her. Saying that you don't agree, that maybe the waitress was lying, is not attacking - if you go back and read the posts I don't even think there were any that were all that rude....I "get" the point that she may have had her feelings hurt that not everyone jumped on her bandwagon but I don't "get" the attacking bit...I guess everyone has a different definition of it, but to the majority posting you are saying...

attacking - on the DIS boards this means not agreeing and sympathizing with a poster...anything other than complete agreeance is considered attacking.....

come on....

I can believe that it happened because CMs are regular people just like you and me but if a manager overheard that, she is already looking for a new job. :confused3

Nowhere in her original post did she say the story was from her friend. In fact she does not even imply that she knew the lacy outside of being her waitress that night.

last night I was out to dinner was talking to the waitress who has a 4 yo she just took to Disney and when they were meeting Aurora she heard Aurora say - loud enough that even her daugher heard it

"I need a smoke" - she said she was appalled and her daughter said - "what does that mean" - she just shook it off -

I can't tell you how fast my butt would have been at guest services - that is totally unacceptable - I hope someone else in the area went to complain!!!

Nope no mention of this lady being anyone she knew for more than an hour’s meal. Has it gotten to the point that it offends people if someone questions a story told to you by a stranger? I hope not. As far as you can tell from the post the OP heard a story from somebody she did not even know, believed it, then told everyone on the DIS, and then gets upset when people on the DIS question whether of not a person she didn’t even know told her the truth. Seems ridiculous to me.

Yes it could happen, and I did not say that it could "never happen at WDW", nor did anyone else in this tread. All we did was say that we doubted that it happened.

Just jumping in, but some of you go from I am not attacking her, just disagreeing, and yet, now you feel the need to question every angle of her story. At the very least, I would feel like people were questioning my honesty. And really, does this require an investigation, all she did was relate a story that someone told her. I don't find her story hard to believe at all, I mean really, people work there, not saints. I don't smoke, but even I might a smoke if I had that job. I mean, can you really blame the princess?
