Ford Escape and cargo space

We're going in 2 weeks and we're renting a ford escape. I was planning on bringing 2 umbrella strollers, but I was thinking it might be nicer to have our double jogging stroller. Does anyone know if we'll be able to fit 2 large suitcases and a double jogger in the back of an Escape? It'll only be from the airport to AKL. Also, can you gate check a double jogger?

I had one for years. I loved it. It could fit 3 large suitcases standing up with room with room for 2 small carry ons and still see out the back. If you don't mind blocking your view, you can fit a lot more. I think you should have not problem. But I have never had a double jogger stroller, so I have no idea how small it folds up.

we have an escape and while it can fit allot in the back i don't know if a double jogging stroller would fit in length wise across. it might be too long unless you don't mind it going in and schlepping over the rear passenger seat (not a problem i guess if only 2 are riding in the back).

you can call a ford dealer and find out what the dimensions are for the cargo area. as for gate checking-i'de call the individual airline.

Thanks for the replies! We'll have 2 in car seats, so I think I'm going to take the umbrella strollers. It will probably be easier in the parks too!
