I am going to need a car for work to get around the weather in N.E, I looked at a 2007 Ford Edge with the leather. It is a local trade, for a Hyndia Sonata...I guess the fuel savings,

I was concerned about the MPG and also transmission or electical issues?

Anyone have knowledge about them? :surfweb:

I have a 2008 Edge with almost 40,000 on it.

I get an overall 21 MPG per the car's computer. And I have a lift for an ECV on the backl end and often am transporting the ECV, so I have almost 350 pounds and not streamlined hanging from the back of the car much of the time. Without it my mileage would probably be much better.

So far, other than scheduled maintenance I have had to have some brake work done and next maintenence I will probably have to have the tires replaced.

But I am very pleased with it.

Boy that is great to hear. Thanks for sharing. I was concerned about transmission issues and MPG. This is reassuring. It is a local trade, the Highlander I looked at was a lease, 2008 with 42,000 on it.

I love the styling and leather. :thumbsup2
Just hope I can get out of the Camry.....

We have two Edges..... a 2007 with around 40,000 miles on it (DS will take to college) and a 2010 we just bought a few months ago. We love them both!

I am not sure on the exact mileage but I believe it's in the low 20's per gallon.

We love the roominess... and the "up high" feel of an SUV. One of our friends calls them our tanks. LOL We feel safe driving and riding... and there is plenty of room for our 6'7" son whether he is driving or riding in the back seat.

Good luck.... we looked at a lot of vehicles when we decided to buy and it did not take us long to realize that another Edge was the only thing we would be happy with.

I have a 2007 SEL AWD with (hate to type this) 59000 miles on it! I have never had a problem with it yet, knock on wood. MPG is not the greatest, but to be expected for a vehicle this heavy. In the winter I was avging about 19mpg. Now that it's getting warmer I am almost back to 20. Will be about 21 probably for the summer. Would be higher if I drove more highway, but I spend my evenings shuffling my dd back and forth in a 30mph town with lot's of stoplights and stop signs. On a highway roadtrip we can get 24-25mpg.
I LOVE my Edge, it drives so smoothly and the seats are sooooooooooooooo comfy.

I absolutely love my Edge! It's a 2008 with 21,000 miles. Have only had regular maintenance so far. I only get 14-15mpg locally, but have gotten up to 25mpg when we drive to Disney!

We test drove those last year and I really liked it. Edge didn't have a backup camera available or DVD system available (only in the headrests), so the CX9 worked better for dh. I would have chosen the Edge though because it was a few thousand dollars cheaper.

Thanks for the good info.:thumbsup2
If I am going for SUV this sounds like it will meet my needs, The certified is a plus too. Just need to figure out the money. I always say why buy for weather that is 3 months a year, but like today i had work and the roads are closed for snow.
I want the room for trips too.

Sounds like it gets better mileage then my KIA Optima. that is 16, 19 at best,
Di
