I've never waitlisted before and have a question I hope you can help me with. I want to stay Wed - Sun but only Wed is available. I've booked Wed and waitlisted the rest of the days. Will the waitlist only come through if ALL the days open up or will they do one day at a time? Say Fri opens, will they reserve that and then continue to waitlist Thurs and Sat?
Would I be better off calling and seeing if any of the single days open and booking them myself?

I am one who is confused with the new WL and this is what disney sent me....

What it means is if you are missing 2 or more nights for your dates, then you cannot request that we set them up for us to confirm as a day by day. They both have to match before we will confirm the waitlist.

So all days have to open up to work, so should we call each day and keep checking and book any/all open days we need, cancel old WL and WL for the new day/days needed??

They won't hold any individual days waiting for others to become available. All the days you need will have to available before your waitlist comes through.

Interesting question -one I'm sure MS hasn't thought through yet. AFAIK, there is nothing in the new policy that would prevent a member from calling every day(or even multiple times a day) to see if any of the individual days on his/her waitlist were sitting in the inventory, and if so, nothing to prevent the member from booking them. Probably a pain, but maybe it's worth it to some. Might get your reservation sooner if you approached it that way.

My advice is to definitely waitlist if you want those dates. And then, if it were me and I was really motivated, I'd call periodically asking if any of the days I needed were available. If they were, I'd book them. Then I'd ask to have the official waitlist altered so that it was only for the dates I still needed. You could ask to have the individual/separate reservations linked later.

Based on my understanding of the new rules if you have Wednesday I'd waitlist for just Thursday. Then when you get Thursday i'd add Friday. I'd also be calling every day or 2 and ask about the other days. I'm guessing you could ask about waiting list for the others with a days gap telling them you're planning a day away to the beach.
