Can we use the 1 day tickets we are buying with our free dining package to upgrade to different kinds of tickets? We are planning on 4 people at POP and are getting the 1 day MYW tickets. Myself and youngest DD have AP's.We would like to upgrade middle DD's ticket to a 10 day non-expiring hopper and oldest DD's ticket to a 5 day hopper( she is in college so can't travel with us very often) Can I just take their room keys after checking in and upgrade and save the other 2 for when we renew our AP's??? TIA

Yes. When you check in, the 4 1D 1P tickets will be on your Key to the World Card. At the concierge desk or at any theme park Guest Relations, you can upgrade to the 10D PH No Expiration immediately, if you like. However, in order to apply a ticket on the Key to the World Card to an Annual Pass, you'll have to wait until the day of your checkout or later. From what you mention above, it sounds like this will work for your plans.

Thank you.I thought maybe Disney wouldn't allow this since they have the rule of everyone on the reservation purchasing the same ticket.

The upgrade (to annual pass or anything else) has to be done within 2 weeks of (and including) the first day of usage.

I'm told that upgrading an admission ticket that is also a room key to an annual pass nullifies the ability to open the room door, the ability to charge purchases to the room, and the ability to present the card for dining plan credits. So you have to plan carefully how and when you are going to do the upgrade and allow plenty of time so you get back to the resort to catch the Magical Express bus back to the airport.

You can ask about having the admission moved onto a separate card to permit upgrading to an annual pass. Not sure whether this works.
