??For those who used the Dining Plan...

I know I know..another dining plan question. Sorry!
The dining plan seems like it would be a great deal for us but I am not sure for DH and I for our trip next year. In past trips we grab fruit or breakfast bars on the way to the parks for breakfast, usually counter service for lunch and either a counter service or table service for dinner (usually 3 or so TS dinners per trip). Do you think it is worth it for us? I try to add it up in my head but who knows! Will the dining plan save us money even if we still have to purchase a few extra snacks and drinks each day throughout the trip? Thanks!

Just take a look at how much you spend on a normal meal both CS and TS. For me a counter service would be about $10 (that includes entree and drink) and usually about $15-25 for table service (no appetizer or dessert). That almost equals the $35. You can take your dessert to go (muffins, cookies, etc...) and stretch your snacks a bit further.

You really just need to look at the cost of the meals. Check out the menus at allearsnet and see what you would normally spend. Pick restaurants you want to eat at assuming price is not an issue, because with the plan it is not.

When we used the plan we saved $100 to $200 per day for three adults. I would use the Dining Plan again. We usually use our counter meal for breakfast and the table meal for dinner. Snacks were good for a bottle of water or an ice cream in the park or at Pop..

You'll save money on the meals you get, it's a given ... with MYW with Dining the tips and all are included ... It saved us about $194 on meals when we were there two weeks ago, (2 adults and DS3 and DS1) and we still had 1 counter service meal left. I've read other posts where people have saved much more. One more thing, be prepared to eat. The table service meals include an appetizer, entree, and dessert. We were taking dessert back to the hotel and eating it for breakfast. Have fun planning !!!
