See conflicting information post. Hoping those who have used it and any CM who works with it can clarify.

Assume 2 or more rooms/families traveling together. All linked to allow for sharing/viewing pictures.

1) who can pick up ride photos? I see some say their kids or others picked them up. But I also see only the memory maker can add ride photos. Which is it? If my kids are with their grandparents can any of them pick it up or only me (the MM).

2) are downloads unlimited during the window? Can I download to my ipad, my phone and my fathers computer? I noticed someone said you get three downloads?

3). Can you really get a CD of your photos for $30 (not the stock photos) when you come home even after you download?

4). See some say they are using a card as well as their bands.

I am also interested in this answer. We have 18 of us going in June/July- with ages 2-70. We will definitely not all be getting ride photos, and grandma will be the one with the MM.

1. Ride Photos are scanned onto your magic band or memory maker card and then downloaded- you don't get a hard copy of the photo- well I suppose you could but you would have to purchase it. The beauty of Memory maker is that you don't have to get a hard copy there and worry about getting it home. You can print as many as you want when you get home.

2. I don't know if they are unlimited but I know I downloaded them to a couple different devices. - my ipad and my computer

3. Yes you can order a CD even if you download all of them. Its in the "products" section.

Thank you, I am well aware we don't get hard copies I did PP+ last year. But the ride photos do not "magically" appear in your photo account (well should say for most but occasionally people mention they do but that seems rare).

Someone has to redeem them right? The question I have is WHO can redeem them (add them to the account)? There is conflicting answers on here. It appears from WDW site that only the Memory maker May redeem/add them but on here I see people saying their kids added them when they were separated. Trying to determine what is the reality. Will my parents be able to get picks if they have one or both of my kids and ride on of the included rides ...say buzz light year... Or am I (the memory maker) the only one who can get them?

You're getting confused because redeeming and adding are two different things. I interpret redeeming as meaning the person who can actually download the photos once you get home, and only one person can do that - the person who the Memory Maker account is assigned to. Anyone who's on the Friends and Family list of the person who the MM is assigned to can have their pictures added to the account.

I get it- I misunderstood.
Anyone can redeem the ride photo as long as they are connected to your memory maker account. Let's say grandma takes your kid on a ride. They go up to the counter and give the person the picture number and the person scans one of their magic bands with the picture number. It will then upload into your account and you as the manager of the account can download it.

Just make sure everyone is listed in the account and everyones magic bands are linked

The only difference you have as the manager is you are the one who downloads everything and you are the one that manages the account- adds names, links bands, etc.

This is the "major innovation" since the PP+ setup we used last trip -- the one special card had to be shown each time -- we missed out on several pics that way. Looking forward to this change. :)

I keep looking and I see the gallery cd under products but not one of the pictures photopass took on the trip. I don't mind paying the $30. Just trying to figure out if it truly is an option. Has anyone done Memory maker and still ordered a CD for a member of their party.

When you log into mydisneyphotopass.com and see your pictures, then there is a products section. In that there is an option for a memorymaker archive CD. That is 30

Thank you!! Yes this was what I was asking. I see people say only the MM can go to the counter and have it added. Sorry for the word confusion. So anyone can get ride photos added to their bands? I thought they would only add it to the band if you purchased the MM. Or is it now anyone can add it to their band but you can only "get" the photo for download or cd if you paid. Anyone else has to pay to get access to it outside the mm/photopass photos ( like if you use the photopass card or band but do not buy the photos it is in your account but you can't get it unless you purchase the package at home or purchase each photo).

I found out on another thread that the CD shows up in the products page once you have activated MM and downloaded your first photos.

Sorry in my head when you go to the desk you are redeeming it. I didn't think they added ride photos to your account unless you purchased them or a MM/photopass+. I didn't realize you could go and say please add photo 150 to my band and purchase at home. I used PP+ last trip and regular PP in the past but did not get any ride photos until the plus option was added.

You are the best. That is not showing when I look. We have to make our decision on PP+ ASAP so I hate to make the wrong choice. But that is what I wanted!!

Only people who have memory maker linked to their bands can upload them to there bands. If you haven't purchased mm or someone in your party purchased and linked you- then you need to purchase it there as always.
Unless mm is linked to your band it wont upload.

Your'e welcome-
I know it seems confusing but it's really not that bad once you get there and start using it.

You purchase memory maker before you go for 150. You make sure everyone that is in your party is listed under MDE under friends and family and that they are all linked to memory maker as well. (if you are unsure you have done it right, stop at the hotel front desk before going into the parks - they are awesome and will help you out and make sure everything is linked correctly)

When you get your picture taken - have them scan your band. They will do a few different shots. With Characters they will start taking pictures as soon as your kid starts interacting with the characters (those are some of my favorites). It doesn't matter whose band is scanned, but it is good practice to have them all scanned one the same band unless you split up.
For rides- go to the counter, tell them then number and have them scan a band. Once again, as long as all bands are linked to the account, it doesn't matter whose band is scanned.

If you have a ipad or laptop with you- you can view the pictures at the hotel at night. https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/
That is what I did. I kept a running total of the pictures (our goal was 150 since it cost 150) and made sure they are all there. YOu can view picture taken from your bands AND if you happen to get photopass cards from things like Enchanted Tales with Belle and so forth you can type in the number on the back of the card and those pictures will upload as well.

There are two links on that site- a memories link, and a products link. THe memories link is where you see the photos- download them, make copies and decorate them and so forth. The products link is where you will see the photo CD option, photo scrap book, coffee mugs, Christmas ornaments, calendars, etc.

When you get home- you can download them all. There is even a button that says download all photos. Depending on how many pictures you have, it will set them up into zip files- you open the zip drives save them to a folder on your computer. I made a folder on my desktop and just selected all the pictures from the zip file and dragged them into the folder on my desktop. It was pretty easy. It took a minute to get the hang of it but once I did, I was golden..

the 45 days- the pictures expire 45 days from when they are taken. Which means - So for us pictures that were taken on January 17th expired on March 6th. Pictures that were taken on January 18th expired on March 7th and so forth.

So if you want a CD - just make sure you order it before they start expiring.

For missing pictures - call the phone number on MDE under memory maker. Give them as much info as you can - approx. what time the photo was taken, where, who was there etc and they will find it. For us, she found it in minutes and uploaded it for us.

Hope that helps!

Is MM available for offsite guests? Our party is interested but we won't have magic bands. How can we get the ride photos?

Yes- we were offsite. There is memory maker card you can get at the entrances of the parks. You use it just like a magic band. They take a picture, and then scan the card.

Same with ride photos. You tell them the photo number and they scan it on to the card.

When you go onto the website, there is a number on the back of the card that you imput online, all the pictures will upload then.

Edit- you can also have the card sent to you. It does save you time however making sure it is all linked up before you enter the parks. However there is a cost for shipping. It worked for us just to pick up the card when we got to the park. We got there at rope drop and I picked up the card while DH went and got FP's reservations.

So, if you are offsite and are sharing this MM with a large family, does only one person get this MM card or is it like the PP cards where everyone can get them and then we just all enter them in when we get home? Do we have to go to guest services to get this card or can they give you one at the ride counters?

Thanks for the help!

Hmm...that I don't know for sure. I think and I could be wrong, that you can get multiple cards linked to the same account.

So, you could stop in and get like 3 or 4 cards all linked up. Then when you split up just make sure at least one person in the group has a card.

We ended up having a couple different cards- one photopass card (we got at chef mickeys) our memory maker card, and a card from enchanted tales with Belle. Each card was able to be uploaded via the number on the back and all the pictures transferred onto our ONE memory maker account.

That might be a question you may want to call on. Let me see if I can find a phone number for you to call and ask for sure. The number I sued when we had a couple missing photos put me in direct contact with a memory maker person and I got my answers with in minutes.

Edit- about ride photos- you NEED a memory maker card or magic band to link those, you can't have a photo pass card. There is something in the type of scanning system. So, I would see if you can get cards all set up before moving on to rides and such. I am not sure if they can give them out at the counters or not. I don't remember if they had them. We already had a card so I didn't pay that much attention.

Question- Why would you buy the cd for $30? Couldn't you download the pics to let's say CVS or Costco and then put them on a disc?
