Do you reuse them within a short period of time? Can I save one till the next day? Do you drip dry them or put them in the fridge?

Seriously. I'm not being snarky, I've decided to start replacing my morning coffe with peppermint tea and it kills me to throw away a perfectly good tea bag after only one use. Though it is cheaper (and less fatting) then the way I take my morning coffe - half EXPENSIVE coffe and half milk, the French have gotten a few things right:thumbsup2 .

I reuse tea bags the next day... it depends on the tea... some teas are not "strong enough" for a second cup.

I drink tea constantly, and I generally reuse my teabag for a second cup, but it's never as good as the first. Also, if you're only going to use mint tea, it's usually not strong enough the second time around. (I usually combine my mint tea with a decaff regular).

You don't reuse coffee grounds, do you? ;)

I reuse mine all the time, I don't care for strong tea so I can easily get two cups out of one bag. I usually squeeze it out and lay it on my spoon rest.

I've reused mint tea just a short while after the first cuppa and it was fine, I was just wondering the best way to save them for the next day.

No I don't reuse coffee grounds. Coffee is sacred:mad: (just kidding).

How do you store the used bags till the next day? I'm thinking a soggy tea bag sitting around on a tea saucer on the counter sounds really yuck.

I reuse my teabags. I guess I drink my tea really weak because I'll use it three, four, or even five times.

However, I never save until the next day. If I were going to save a tea bag, I'd put it in the fridge to retard any bacterial growth, in some kind of closed container.

Another way to go (and perhaps the better choice) would be to buy loose leaf mint tea. Then you can control the strength and just use enough for one cup. Or use a tea pot with a filter: http://www.arissprings.com/Finum-Tea-Pot-System-p-52.html

You can find filters at most stores and all speciality shops. Hope that helps!

Um, for me it's not "perfectly good" after I use it.

It's what I like to call "used up"...

But if you like the taste of a day old teabag, more power to ya...

Another solution would be to make extra. I usually make a whole pot and then refridgerate whatever I don't drink. Then I can reheat it or use it as iced tea.

Kinda related, if you want decaf tea, brew a cup, then brew a second using the same bag. Several tea sites claim that the second use of the same tea is decaf. Don't understand how it works, but supposedly it does. :confused3

I drink one cup or peppermint tea in the morning and then take the tea bag and sit it in a mug of water to heat up later in the day. That second cup is usually pretty strong stuff! :rolleyes1

Regular paper tea bags aren't the best for re-using. I wouldn't save it 'til the next day, due to them getting bacteria and other "yuckies" on them. Maybe someone's idea of refrigerating them might be ok.
Lipton makes those triangular tea bags that are silk, and they are much more condusive to re-use.

Also, if you're drinking tea for the caffeine, you don't want to re-use your bags (the 2nd cup will be caffeine free).

At this law firm the head partner used to leave his used tea bags in the kitchen after he made his tea, for a second cup. When i saw it sitting there I would trash it. He also counted the pen and pencils every morning to see how many were being used. I drink tea every day and use a new bag each time. it only costs pennies a bag.
