? for those who live outside the US?

Forgot to say my family mainly say "Florida" O_o

Like whenever something is related to the USA, they'll say something like "they sell that in Forida." or "it's so much cheaper in Florida"

Cheaper in florida in relation to the rest of the states or cheaper in florida in relation to where you live?

cause let me tell you, its NEVER cheaper in florida in relation to the states. :p

I live like a mile away from canada and we always have canadians around us like evrywhere. Its so crazy. Im not canadian, but our town is so close to canada, some kids at our school have canadian accents. We all call it the united states. My friends say i have a canadian accent but idk. I dont say 'eh' or stuff like that. idk lol

THIS IS MY 30th POST WHOO HOOO :woohoo: (sry to random)

Where do you live? :O

We could be budz. hahaha.

Near Galleria mall?

Well, most of the time it is refered to as 'the states', but also the US, USA, or my favorite, the basement :lmao: . We sometimes hear of it as 'America' from people overseas, or if it just sounds better in the scentence.

The Canadian accent is, generally, really a lack of an accent. At least, over here in the west we have what is known as a 'neutral' accent. A neutral accent is, for example, what is used in news shows so it is as understandable as possible. The east coast (Maritimes, Newfoundland) can sometimes have a slight accent, but I'm no expert.

oh the USA is alot cheaper then the UK! But since we've only been to Florida, it's just how they say it... Sometimes they'll say USA or America, but it's mainly Florida.

I live in the tri-state area, and everything in Florida is WAY cheaper than it is up here.
Prices around here are insane.

I live here.
And I call it America.
Idk why.

The only time the word 'eh' ever stands out for me is in comedy sketches.
And comedy sketches make Canadians look like hicks a lot of the time.

really??? because i seriousl say 'eh' like every other sentence!!
yeah like the mackenzie brothers sketches def. make us look like hicks...but those are funny. :P

And there are a few different 'canadian' accents, mostly in the maritimes though. As someone before me said, we seem to have a 'neutral' accent.

Oh trust me the US of A is a lot cheaper than the UK. My cousin lives in Pittsburgh and she has an apartment twice the size of our house for half as much.

where in the uk london is extremly expensive you can't get anything for a cheap price

it feels like buying somthing from a disney store here is just as expensive as a trip to WDW

What's a Canadian accent? How Jim Carrey talks? or how Michael Buble sings? I've never noticed a difference in how Canadians talk versus like a midwestern accent.

Well definitely in Newfoundland. They have newfie accents. It's odd, but cute to listen to. They add s's at the end of like every verb (I read a book written completely in Newfie accent, and it drove me nuts).

The Maritime accents are usually crappy French ones. Acadian ones, and the language of chiac makes us look like hicks.
Like Acadian pride is fine and what not, but I can't STAND listening to them talk.
Parker la car is NOT proper French. It's awful.

I can't think of any other accents, as NFLD is not a part of the Maritimes, soo...:confused3

chisnpeke--ever heard Rick Mercer talk??? if not, youtube it, because THAT is the only real type of Canadian accent that I know of, other than Acadian & French-Canadian, and some Canadians in the west have a slight accent.
But other than that, people in Canada basically speak like every on the movies does...like Jim Carey does lol.

Canadian Accents? Never heard of that one before. I thought you guys sounded like many Americans.

So it is common to call it America.
I would've never thought that.
But then again, I can be quite oblivious.
I still find it strange tho.

I refer it to US or "Estados Unidos", i dont say America or whatnot lol
if we become a state, *hopes*, if we become a part of you guys then ill say USA lol
