For those who live in towns where you are required to shovel

Have you ever called to complain? I just had to call because I'm being forced to walk in the street and stand in the street waiting for bus while cars are speeding by. This one house NEVER shovels. Kills me because DH is out there breaking his back after every snow fall, and these people do NOTHING. Officer said they would send someone over.

Our city's stated policy is that you have 24 hours after a snowfall to clear your sidewalk. If you don't, they will come out and shovel your sidewalk for you and then give you a bill for it.

All of our neighbors are good about it so I dunno if they enforce this, but the law is on the books...

to call to complain thank goodness. We shovel our corner property!! Our neighbor usually helps us with the snow blower too. Some of the neighbors and I also go and shovel for a couple of different elderly folks on the block as well. I'd be afraid of a law suit if we didn't shovel!!!

We can be fined if all the sidewalks are not cleared within 24 hours.
