We do NOT want to rent a car. Is there transportation from Disney hotels to Universal? I was thinking about whether we should stay at the Universal resort for the 3 days we want to do Universal then go to the Disney resort for the 7 or so days we want to do Disney. Or just stay at a Disney resort the entire time and I'm assuming there's some sort of transportation to Universal.

We cabbed it to universal from our hotel (that trip we stayed at Movies). It was years ago though and I forget what the fare was each way.
If your doing 3 straight days there I would think that staying at Universal first would be best. But that's just my opinion.
Good luck

We stayed at Universal for a couple of days and then 5 days at Disney last Thanksgiving. I booked a car service thru Mears Transportation. They were prompt, reliable and the driver was polite and very friendly. He picked us up right outside of the Hard Rock Hotel and drove us straight to the Wilderness Lodge. He called the Lodge about 5 minutes before we got there so the CM was waiting for us outside.

I'd use them again for sure.

Actually, I'd stay at Disney first, then spend the last three days over at Universal. If you stay onsite at Universal, you get front of the line Express pass, which easily spoils you.:rotfl: I hate using the Express Pass at Universal and hopping right on rides over and over, then having to go over to Disney and wait in those long lines.

For your days at Universal, definitely stay onsite at Universal and not at Disney :thumbsup2 . Like aubriee mentioned, your entire family will receive free unlimited Express passes for the duration of your stay, which means zero wait for rides . Its wonderful, and very easy to get used to!!! :rotfl2:

You will also get early entry to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter :cool1: . When this area of the parks is easily the most popular (and Forbidden Journey does not have Express Pass access), its another very valuable perk that you will want to take advantage of.

Then you can add in the fact that the Universal resorts are lovely, with much finer finishings and a more upscale feel than all the Disney values and mods, at the very least, and nicer in many ways than some of the Disney deluxes IMHO. No over-the-top theming like many of the Disney resorts, but very classy and lush.
