Hotwire for Hotel and Vacation package ressies I have a question. How do you know what hotel you are reserving with a hotel only ressie. It says you won't know until you pay and then you are unable to make changes or cancel. Same with airline info for vacation packages. Don't want to book something that I don't know about. Am I missing something here?

That's correct...you don't know what hotel you will be going to when you book. I think you are booking a hotel based on its amenities, and you are to go into it thinking you will be happy as long as your hotel as x,y,z amenities. I have never used it, but I have heard of people getting booked in the Swan and Dolphin through it. I haven't heard that recently though. I don't think you would be booked into a true Disney property though unless it has changed recently.

Hi - If you book a PACKAGE with hotwire, you get to select your hotel and are given a price based upon your hotel selection. What you don't know in the package deal is your flight times and if you include a car in the package the company where your car is being booked. However, if you go with room only you have no idea which hotel you are going to get. There is website - I think it is betterbidders - that will give you a pretty good idea of which hotel you will get based upon the icons being displayed for the hotels that are listed & what people are reporting to getting when they bid. For "hotel only" reservations, you can try to guess which hotel it is based on amenities, location, star rating etc... Go to biddingfortravel.com and betterbidding.com and people post which hotels they got on priceline and hotwire. You are correct in that you really don't KNOW which hotel you are getting until you buy it. I've read from other posters that for the Dolphin there are some amenities (guest laundry if I remember correctly) that supposedly help you identify if the resort is the Dolphin. Good luck!
