Have you ever taken a tray to carry plates etc. back and forth from the lounge to your room? I found it quite difficult and awkward to carry plates and such while at the WL in Feb. I told DH that I was going to buy an inexpensive tray for the trip next month. Of course, he poo-pooed the idea. He wasn't with me on that trip though....I'm STILL gonna buy one!

You can use the tray in your room that your ice bucket is on OR I have noticed at the GF they do have trays in the lounge specifically for you to use to take food/drinks to your room.:thumbsup2 I have seen plenty of people using the ice bucket tray.

We have used trays to take food to our room in every concierge level we've stayed in except the GF RPC because that lounge is so nice and open and no problem with seating. PLUS it's just so beautiful and relaxing sitting there. ;)

Enjoy!

When staying on the Atrium Club Level at the Contemporary if we needed to take food back on a tray from the lounge, we would go down to the Food & Fun Center and get one from there.

If you have an ideal size tray to in mind that you can buy, go for it. You can use you ice trays or I have even asked the different club levels I was at for one and they had one to spare. If my DH was against it me buying one, I think that would prompt me to make sure that I went ahead and brought one with. It just would make me smile a little if I new it bugged him.;)

We too used the ice bucket tray at the Polynesian. We had the ds get the food most of the time too.

No tray..just the two of us...and we were so fortunate to be located so close to the lounge, it was never an issue:)

Almost 2 years ago we were at AKL and the CL lounge was packed every morning- no seats or tables. I asked for a tray so we could take cereal back to our room and we were told they couldn't give me one. Don't know what would happen if we had brought one from our room.

I would go down and fill out a tray with breakfast for my family and bring it back to the room especially when staying at the GF SL and BC the lounges are way to small. When I stayed at the WL and BWI there was more room to eat in the lounge. Also at the poly there is room but it always packed. People were staking out tables 15min before the food was put out.
I also would take a few sodas and a water and out them in my fridge for when the lounge was closed and we were coming back late at night.

Ya know, it never occurred to either one of us to use the ice bucket tray. :confused3 Does anyone remember the approx. size of this tray? Is it big enough to put 2 plates of food on? I just don't think they're that big but I don't remember. BTW, I've found 2-3 trays that would be perfect for this trip. They would compliment the WL theming and they're only around $15-$20.

Oh, ya, they are definitely large enough.:thumbsup2 We used to use it all the time when we stayed CR tower club prior to the lounge being built. We have a family of 5 and we'd work it out. We'd kind of do "family style" and put the croissants (for example) for our whole family on one plate, fruit on another, etc. and juice and coffee cups fit, too.... and then I would have a helper kid carry a stack of serving plates back to the room for us. It can be done.:goodvibes

Happy travels,
