When I was 5, my mom and grandmother took me to Disneyland. We stayed at a hotel where you could see the fireworks from our room. It is a memory I will never forget - and one that I am considering giving to my own children next year, before they're too old to think it's spectacular. :-) Hence we may try to stay at BLT next year (although if we stay over the July 4th week we might not be able to get a MK view.) Here's my question, though:

If you're watching fireworks (from Wishes, Hallowishes, 4th of July, etc.) from your room - is there a way to pipe in the music? I was thinking there'd be a tv station or something where you could do this, but figured I'd ask. The music really does have a big impact! :-)

Thanks!

Yes. There is a tv station that you can tune to to listen to the music if you watch the fireworks from your room.

There is a channel on the TV that will have the music. I was never able to get the volume loud enough to really hear it well.

This is exactly why we bought BLT sight unseen. We went to Disney when I was 4 and my dad booked the Contemporary MK view the last night we were there. At that time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever and wanted the same for my son. We had a (not so good) MK view room a month ago. We could see the fireworks but had to go out on the balcony and look to the right to do so. We were also on the 4th floor and I had requested a "high" room. If you go, hopefully you'll have better room location than we did!

Channel 20 - we we're there two weeks ago and did it at least 6 times. Both of my DD 8 and 19 thought it was the bomb!

Channel 20, we could hear it on the balcony and our neighbors had their TVs going too. It was like hearing it in stereo. :goodvibes

My wife and I had a MK view at the grand floridian for our honeymoon. They were very far away, but being at the floridian was magical enough.

We are staying in a BLT 2 bedroom MK view. I know the larger rooms have larger picture windows, but either way the views should be epic. Pretty much all the rooms that are MK view put you on top of the castle.

We stayed in a 1br MK view for Halloween last year and will be again in 9 days. I gave DD9 a choice of all of the DVC resorts and she chose BLT again. Said she could not get a view like that anywhere else. She would not close the curtains at night so she could wake up looking at the castle. Made us really happy that we bought there and that she loves it as much as we do. IMHO you can not go wrong with this view. We were lucky though and had a straight on view from the room of the castle. Enjoy no matter what you decide.

Yep, stayed there for 4th of July 2010 in a 1br. I got the biggest kick out of sitting in the jacuzzi in the master bedroom and watching the fireworks with a Mikes Hard Lemonade in my hand! :cool1:

We've stayed withe MK view once and the fireworks were good from our room but better at the top. They are not centered over the castle. The best view, IMHO is at the Polynesian. Looking straight towards the castle. I still remember even though those trips were probably 15 years ago and so do my children.
