? for those who have rented townhomes from private owners...

Hi all, Hope you are having a great day.


Thanks to the experts on this board , I went to the vrbo website & found a great deal on a townhome at Regal Palms. Since I'm a nervous nelly, I'm starting to panic since I don't have a confirmation number. I sent payment through Paypal about 18 hours ago (+the owners in the U.K.). I don't want to keep emailing her & bug her. How long does it usually take to get your confirmation? Is this something that takes time on their end? When I get it, should I call the resort & confirm too?


Can you tell this is my 1st time renting through an owner?! Thanks for any advice, Sbella

Most likely the resort won't have any record of you renting the villa/condo. As for confirmation--I have always just asked for a confirmation email. However, this isn't always standard practice--- so you may need to ask.

It is a leap of faith. However 99% of the time we hear all positive stories-- so I would try to relax. I'm sure things will work out fine. You'll love having all the extra space too.

Thanks kilee. I think I just needed to hear that. I'm so nervous because a long time ago, I sent $350 to a "lady" in the U.K. & never saw it again (eBay-I was new & naive). Thanks again for the comforting words, SBella

Don't forget there is also a time difference between the us and uk. It could also be that she only logs on at the weekend. Give her time, I'm sure it'll be fine.

Also, I thought paypal was a secure method of payment, especially if you've used your credit card.

Feel free to email her again. Just stating the you had not heard that the transaction had been completed and you were just inquiring about it. We have been known to make mistakes.
