For those who have gone to college....

I have a B.S. in Psychology and B.S. in Nursing.
I did not get to work in a job that was related to my psychology degree, but I would have loved to. And I'm pretty sure I use it in my current role as a nurse.

I really enjoyed being a psych major and would consider going back to grad school to study it more, just because I like the subject. But I don't think I will, at least not for a long, long time.

I plan on going back to school later this year for a master's in nursing (CNM or WHNP).

I have both an Associate's and Bachelor's in Graphic Communication. They have been well used as I've used them every day since--I'm a graphic designer.

If I had the time and money, I'd want to go back to school for culinary arts. I like design, but I love cooking/food. I had the chance to initially go to school for culinary arts, but design was the other thing I was good at and didn't have the physical requirements/long hours of being a chef.

I am also a believer that education is NEVER wasted. I've never believed in going to college for a job, you go to get educated, the job will find you.

B.A.s in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I guess it could be argued that I use the psychology aspect of it, since I work with people , but I do not work *in* a psychological and/or CJ occupation. The only job I could find after I graduated was in data entry, and afterward, since that was the experience I had...I sort of got stuck.

I lost my job in February of last year, and due to being a "displaced worker," I was able to go back to school. I will get my Accounting Assistant certificate in May.

I truly am not interested in psychology or CJ. I chose it because at the time, the school pressured all students to "pick something." I know now, almost 15 years later, that my heart lies with History. I first considered getting another bachelor's degree in History, but since I most likely would end up teaching, I was advised that I can get a Master's of Education in *whatever subject* since I already have the bachelor's. I am SERIOUSLY considering it

Hi! I just went back to school this past fall. I have been out of high school for 20 years this year. I originally went back for Elementary Ed. with my dual cert. in Early Childhood. However, I am changing my major to Graphic Design. I am a photographer. It is my passion and I think graphic design fits in much better with what I want to do. My husband has his degree in Physical Education. Other than volunteer coaching, he has not used his degree. He is a senior reporting analyst for a major health insurance company.

I have a BA in English, with a minor in Film Studies. English is a very generalized major, so it's hard for me to say I don't use it, because I do in a lot of ways, and they don't all have to do with my job.

I have gone back to school to get an MBA. We'll see what I do in the future.

I have an accounting degree, and I do use it everyday. I work part time as a Research Accountant at a hospital.

I wish I would have got an Elementary Education degree. Now that I have kids, I would love to have the same schedule as them. I don't think I could devote the time now to go back to school.

My DH has a BS in Food Science/Chemistry. He uses his degree every day in his job. He works in R&D in the food industry.

Learned I had a natural talent in stats...enjoy it to no end. Which is nice, because companies are willing to pay for that skill. The wife thinks I'm a little savant like with numbers...Maybe so.

All I will say, I recommend to everyone to take as much math as you can. It helps you order your thought in a very usable way.

I've got a bachelor's and a masters, as well as some coursework in a different masters. I wouldn't have my current job without the masters--you can't get an interview without it.

Right now, I love my job and don't need another degree, so no, I'm not heading off to school. Instead, I'm gearing up to send two kids to college.

My DH has a degree in Construction Engineering. As he moves up the ladder in his company his job becomes more about managing his team than about the technical side. Not so in the past. However he needs that technical aspect to give the younger/new people guidance.

There are Construction Science and Management degrees offered by other universities. His problem with SOME of the graduates of those programs is that by not being required to take the higher level engineering classes they haven't developed the problem-solving skills they really need.

He has discussed going back to law school a couple of times. Unfortunately at this point that would be taking a huge step backwards for us financially. Starting salaries for lawyers are significantly less than his current salary.

I have a B.B.A. majoring in Information Systems. I am the Information Systems Coordinator for my employer so I would say I am using it.

I love school and will be going back for a Masters when time permits. If I had to do it all over again I would do the same. In theory I would just go right to college from High School instead of waiting 3 years but at the time I didn't know what I wanted to do and didn't want to just go to go. Waiting those years got me good work experience and the job I had when I went to college let to my first degreed job so in reality I would not want to change it because it could have turned out much worse.

I have my B.A. in Biology with a concentration (minor) in Environmental Studies. The first few years out of college I don't really feel like I used it but I'm using it now, as I work at a science museum. I've contemplated going back for nursing but we'll see what happens.

DH has a B.A. in Chemistry and a Masters in Medicinal Chemistry/Molecular Pharmacology and definitely uses it daily at his job (drug development at a pharmaceutical company), which he absolutely loves.

I got a BS in Communications - Majored in Broadcast Journalism. And to be honest, no I don't use the Broadcasting aspect of my degree at all. I do use the journalism portions and I am thankful to have that under my belt as I do use that on a daily basis. Almost everything I learned in college regarding communications has come to be beneficial for me in some way or another.

I minored in Theater, which was something I loved, still do.

If I could go back to school I think I would get my teaching certificate and teach drama. That would be my dream right now. But unfortunately, it doesn't pay enough for me to switch careers right now.

Both DH and I only have HS diploma's. But our combined income is very healthy, so we do just fine!

DH has no desire to go back to school. I would like to some day, simply because I love learning so much. I'd either get something related to meeting and convention planning, or accounting/book keeping. That's part of why I haven't gone back yet, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up!

i took the classes for Dental Assisting and got certified and graduated and everything but i found out that i didn't really care for doing that. i'm more of a "behind-the-scenes" person instead of right on the front lines, when it comes to the medical field, like that.

i'm actually going back to school next month. i just got my acceptance letter today! i'm going for Medical Billing and i can get National Certification which means i can take it with me anywhere, that's really exciting!

but my courses are only for about 4 months with an internship towards the end. had it been a 2 year course i probably wouldn't have done it. i don't have the patience for more than a year or so of any more schooling.

I have a BA in Political Science and an MBA. For 20 years, I really didn't use the Poly Sci degree, but I did use the MBA as I was in Business and IT. Got laid off a couple of years ago and decided to pursue my dream. At 43 yo, I started law school part time. I definitely plan on using this degree after I receive it.

Comp sci. Use the fundamentals that I learned all the time in my job as a data architect and adviser. I'll never go back to school because I never liked school itself. I continue my education in my field with seminars, training classes, reading, and talking to people. I continue my education outside my field by purchasing used textbooks (I'm really getting into econ) and working through them.

I love my job and hope to keep doing it for a long time.
