DH, DS(7), and I were originally scheduled on the 11/4 Fantasy Eastern sailing. We had all our plans in place until Irma decided to change them for us. We are now scrambling to find activities for the Western itinerary.

For Grand Cayman, we would like to do Stingray City. I've signed us up with Captain Marvin because their two-stop tour works best for our port time.

I was very excited until I watched some videos. Now I'm apprehensive because I'm afraid of their tails. Can their tails cut you in case they swipe near you too closely?

TIA

I don't have an answer to your question but we are on the same cruise and also doing Captain Marvin's 2 stop tour with our son's that are 8 and 5. Have you decided what you are doing in Costa Maya? We are still undecided on that port.

I’ve been to Stingray City four times (once with Captain Marvin—they were fantastic!), and I can tell you that there really is no danger from their tails. They will tell you to shuffle your feet as you walk so you don’t step on a tail, but just them rubbing up against you won’t hurt a bit. Go and have fun!!

WE Did this When my kids were probably five and eight years old. And they loved it. No worries about their tails at all. Lots of great photo opportunities.

Are you doing the 11:15 time slot with Captain Marvin?

We are still debating whether to go to Chaccoben ruins with Native Choice. DH really wants to go but DS is 7 so I don't know whether he'd appreciate it as much. If we don't go to the ruins, we were just going to explore the port and go back to the ship. We are okay if we only do excursions for Cayman and Cozumel. For Cozumel, we booked with a 3 hour cab tour with Tours Plaza.

Since your older son is close to my son's age, we hope to see you around during the cruise.

We were originally in the 11/4 and changed to 11/25. I booked this through Nativeway.
I can't give you any advice about the excursion, but having lived in FL, just do the stingray shuffle and you should be OK.
