Don't you just hate how the bills never seem to stop coming?! And some (a lot) are from people I never even remember seeing! I know there are behind the scenes people who do a lot of work, but some days I just dread going to the mailbox. We're past the insurance payment time and now its "we're looking to you for the balance"!

Oh, sorry to complain. Actually I'm so grateful for each and every person who worked on getting my DD well. Send the bills, I'll get to them all eventually!

The bills are tough yes. But I really hate when you get the collection call before you ever even get the bill. This happened after I was in the hospital for a week. They called me two days after I got home wanting payment and they hadn't even sent the bill. They said they wanted $12,000. Well when my insurance went through their discounts, etc. it was reduced to around $3,000. I only had to pay about $600.00.:rolleyes:

I never pay anything until after I see what my insurance is going to pay. Last year was crazy and we had lots of medical bills. I set up monthly payments with the hospitals and drs. offices and had no problems with them.

Md dad died Thanksgiving morning and we are still getting bills - and still waiting for Medicare and his supplemental insurance to pay bills

I know it is tough...have gone through that several times.

Hang in there....{{{HUGS}}}

I went over every bill that my Mom got with her hospitalization. I made sure that she owed it. When I called one doctor, they told me that the insurance had denied the bill, but then I found out that they had mis-coded the bill! I told them that she wouldn't be paying the bill, since they didn't bill it correctly.
One phone call took care of one of the bills for my son's overnight stay in December - they discovered that they had the ID# incorrect.
Your DD had a very long stay - I can't even imagine how that amounts to! - hang in there!

My DS has had seven surgeries........we will be getting bills forever!!!:rolleyes:

I hear you, it's very aggravating. Another thing that bugs me is that our insurance co. says they will "pay for one mammogram" and "one physical" per year so I get them both done but then receive bills for them. Yes, they will pay for the mammogram and the physical but not EVERYTHING else like blood/urinary tests, the "office call" or the "reading" of the mammogram!! Geez!!! :mad:

What is really aggravating is that a lot of those people probably haven't even billed your insurance yet.

My mother spent 15 days in the hospital and between the Medicare disbursement letters and grouchy anesthesiologists letters (they never billed Medicare but the computer says pay up now) it's beginning to make me get grouchy.

I can only imagine what you are going through. Medical insurance can be a pain and so hard to understand. Then when things are misfiled and mistakes are made it is so hard to straighten it out.

My daughter was only in the hospital for 9 days. So far we've only recieved the bill from her primary doctor. They filed it with our OLD insurance that ended in December, and I had them make a copy of my new card at the first visit in February. I clearly remember giving her the card to make the copy because we had to look at the card to decide what my new co-pay would be. :rolleyes: I hadn't had anyone sick since before the first of the year. I made a call, but only talked to their machine. Hope they get it straightened out before the hospital bills start rolling in, not to mention the other 3 doctors.
