For those who are going in September and October...

I'm leaving in 10 days :cool1: Yes, my friends and I did fork over for trip insurance, but I don't think we'll need it. I haven't even heard of any tropical storms brewing, but maybe it's still a bit too early... Storm or not, if the flight is going, so are we! I've worked too hard to plan this trip! Oh, and we're on Delta, too. Please, please, don't let it go bankrupt before we go!

We're going Oct 14-21 and I think last year was a fluke. We don't have trip insurance as we are using DVC points and flying SW. If we had to move dates we could.

We still are going and yes we bought the insurance. When traveling at this time of year in certian regions you have to have back up plans and be flexible.
We plan on taking this vacation because it might be the last one for awhile until the hurricane is cleaned up and life in the region returns to semi normal if that will be possible.

Yup! Still Goin', we've arranged ourselves to be flexible with jobs and my Mom who is staying with our dkids. So the second honeymoon trip is a go!

Our trip is Oct 13-24. Hurricanes are definitely a worry for me. I do NOT want to caught in FL if one of those storms arrive in Orlando. We live near the NJ northern coast, so there's even a possibility one could hit here. We bought a AAA package, and yes, we do have trip insurance. We are still planning on our vacation and hoping for the best.

:goodvibes We went last year in Sept we got caught there for hurricane Frances, Disney was closed for day when we were there. All the people down there were very good durning this time.

This year were going the first week of October and I always buy trip insurance because of my sickly mother.

I hope everyone has a good trip :goodvibes

Why would you even say such a thing. Reading your post and knocking on wood. We are going sept 29-oct 5. Historically the weather has been good that time of year(yes i researched it). So we will roll the dice and pack our bags.

still going and looking very much forward to it! Praying for good weather for everyone! If by some chance there would be a hurricane, my last thought would be our trip to WDW...it would be for the safety, security, home, and food for people in that area. We shall see. We are very excited!

We are going the first through the eight of October, and we do have trip insurance. Very worried about the possiblity of a hurricane. We have the free dining promo goin on, so if we did have to cash in on our insurance, we still might be screwed because we only insured our package price, thats with free dining. If we rescheduled it, we would'nt get free dining.

We are still going (Sept. 17-23) and we are driving from Tulsa, OK. Pray we can find gas along the way!!!! :umbrella:

We went the week after 9/11. We're going the beginning of October.
Hurricanes haven't been a consideration.......well......after watching tv all this week.....we've ended up in a discussion about it. If we've gotta be in such a terrible situation, where else than the 'happiest place on earth',
besides, Mickey wouldn't allow it (a hurricane)!!!! The gas shortage I hope is short lived-if not, we'll use some sort of public transportation to WDW and make the best of it. I live in Washington State and with our terrible, terrible airline service we have nowadays, always get a direct flight whenever possible to avoid delays, etc etc etc changing planes.

Life's short. If your time is up, it's up.

For what it's worth, bankruptcy doesn't mean they stop flying. USAir went bankrupt a couple of years ago. At least that's what our travel agent told our secretary when she was booking some flights on Delta.

We go every year in Oct. and haven't really worried about hurricanes. You are coming up on the tale end of the season. I usually watch the week before our trip, but I haven't ever thought about canceling our trip. We are going to be at WDW on Oct. 8-16.

Actually, I believe hurricane season lasts through mid November.

We are going the last week of September and I don't think a hurricane would impact our vacation much. WDW is far enough inland that last September when they had 4 hurricanes hit Florida in a month, Disney was closed only one day.

No trip insurance, praying for good wheather this year.

Last year we got cancelled twice due to the storms. The first time the airpoirts were shut down on the day we were supposed to leave. We called disney and they let us re-book for two weeks later.
Bad wheather again, so they let us cancel all together. When I called the airline and they saw what happened they let us save our tickets for another trip. We are going 9/28-10/4.

We're going Sept 10th to the 18th and we did get insurance. I never purchased it before but with the cost of this trip and worring anout the weather it provided me with a comfort level that I needed. I booked this trip in Feb so there was no way of knowing how the weather would be in Sept. I also feel good that if someone gets sick before the trip we're also covered.

Anyway now that we are only 6 days away from leaving I'm so happy that I may lose the money I spent on insurance as I would rather have a great time in WDW than get a refund from the insurance. Also insurance doesn't cost that much compared to cost of the trip.

We rode out hurricane Jeane last Sept & we are going back for more..We do always buy the insurance for weather possibiliies and if one of the kids get sick at the last minute!

You guys have as much information as we do about hurricanes! Just watch the weather before you come. Don't worry Disney will be just fine!!! Come and have fun!!!!!
