For those waiting for Cat Cora's Kouzina...

Ugh! dont say that!! noooo! If disney cant handle the crowds.. why book so many people?! (yes...I know it all comes down to money...but still! lol)

I don't think so. Spoodles is a buffet right now - or will be shortly, if my timing is off - until it closes. I genuinely can't see that Disney would open a new table service restaurant as a buffet, even temporarily.

Maybe I misread this wrong, I'm going to go back and re-read it, but I didn't think they would make the new place anything to do with the "B" word!
I just panicked when I saw it!

The online ADR system is still taking ressies for Spoodles as far up at 9/16/09. They're cutting it close with the changeover if this is the case!

I'm thinking this is an error in the online system, because the availability is not in line with what has been announced about the closure. Right now, Spoodles is bookable for both breakfast and dinner right up until 9/19 (90 days from today). Unless Disney has put off the conversion altogether and completely changed the buffet-then-closure schedule that was previously announced, this is just another problem with the online system.

I was just on the phone with a CM making my ADRs and she said that there is no date for the opening of Cat Cora's restaurant. We will be there for 8 nights starting September 19th and I was hoping to go!!!

We're watching for it too. I'm assuming it'll be open in time for us, we're not going til 10/22. I'm making an alternate plan just in case & I'll change it if I can once Kouzzina opens for ressies.

Back in March Disney announced that BoardWalk eatery Spoodles would be closing to make way for Kouzzina by Cat Cora. The conversion process is actually occur over a period of several weeks starting in July and leading up to Kouzzina's late-August opening.

As of July 1, 2009 Spoodles will discontinue serving breakfast to guests. Meanwhile Flying Fish Cafe will begin serving breakfast in order to compensate for the loss of Spoodles.

On July 6, 2009 Spoodles will alter its food service from a la carte to buffet only, again to help facilitate the transition.

Finally, on August 2, 2009 Spoodles will close to begin the final stages of the transition to Kouzzina.

The transition will take several weeks to complete. Kouzzina is expected to open sometime before the end of August.


I am on hold right now to see if they are taking ressies.

(update) The CM says she hasn't heard about when ressies can be made....she just said to keep your eye out (after I mentioned I found this info online).

Yeah! I am thrilled that it will be open, on the dinning plan and only 1 TS. I am really looking forward to trying Cat's new restaurant.

When we were at Spoodles last week I ask our server about the change. I was told "the breakfast menu is remaining as is with no changes. The main change will be with the dinner menu which will now be offering a combination of traditional Greek and Mediteranian cuisine".

Now, is this really what we can expect??? Who knows! But I'm looking forward to trying this new restaurant on my next trip which is only 351 days away!!!

I made ADRs June 28th and tried to book this restaurant. The CM said they had no idea when it was opening or when the'd start taking ADRs. After we finished with the rest of my ADRs I asked if she'd mind checking with guest services to see if they knew anything more about Kouzzina's. She finally came back and said they should be open by late Sept/early Oct. My trip is Sept 26th-Oct 4th.

yes you have to call, and you may have to spell it out/elaborate on where it is. Not all CM's are aware of it yet (at least that was the case on Friday). I also think people said that if you are on DDP that you have to ask them to look for it without them having 'selected' DDP because it wasn't listed as DDP eligible yet.
