For those that won August times on Skyauction...

I was wondering when you won your auction.

We are thinking about a trip next year (which I am thrilled about because I didn't think there was any possibility of going) and using Skyauction again. I couldn't remember how long I waited to get it before. We used it in 2004 in August, so I think I got it sometime in the spring, but with a "last minute" deal in July. Does that sound right?

Did anyone win an auction that was "August Only" for this past Aug./2006?? If so, when did you bid and win?

Thanks in advance. :)

I think I saw a couple on August go away without anyone bidding on them.
they were definitely last minute - less than 10 days out.

I used a getaway week (home and away) for 150 for a whole big huge Vacation Village at the Parkway starting August 27...It was available for August 25 and 26 for a week also and perhaps the week before. The 2 bedroom is really 2 one bedroom condos' linked by a foyer. Can't say enough good things about this place which is just across 192 from Celebration and a mile from the magic kingdom.

With the 'getaway.com' weeks, you can never be sure there will be availability and there usually isn't during summer. But since most schools now start that last week in August, it is fairly easy to get for one of those getaway certificates. And wow, such a deal!

try to find Vacation Village now.....they just are not there anymore on that website ( these units are listed on RCI extra vacations
at 400$ for one bedroom and 451 for the not so available two bedroom units ...37 total listings for October with approximately 20% of them being two bedrooms )

there used to be "plenty" of VV listed on getaway but the developer seems to have put a "stop" to those listings, with them probably hearing "why would we buy a timeshare from you when we can get into the resort for "peanuts" using skyauction...

albeit, they usually split the units into their component parts, such that two bedrooms were few and far between

we just got back from cypress pointe in a three bedroom using getaway weeks, the timeshare salesmanger's jaw dropped when we told them how much it really cost us for the week....which when you "add" in the timeshare incentive for listening to their program, it was even less than our original purchase cost ...we did not tell them where we got the good deal though.....

hopefully, skyauction will continue to be offered "excess weeks" for their inventory from RCI....but it seems the better resorts are "pulling back" on their offerings or restricting how the inventory they are passing onto RCI can be used
