Feel free to move this post if I didn't post on the correct board. :goodvibes

We have some friends "somewhat" interested in DVC. They were thinking of a possible resale. I sent them the Timeshare link for them to check out. So a few questions....

If you have bought/sold using the Timeshare store....how did you like it? Anything to worry about when using them?

Also, do the prices per point fluctuate or do they stay around the same price month after month? In other words....should they buy now or will the prices change in a month? Should they JUMP now or ride it out and see if prices go down even more?

Is the TimeShare store the only place they should look?? Thanks

They are looking at smaller contracts....like 100 to 150 points at maybe two different resorts. Thanks for any info you can send my way for them.

No firsthand experience yet, but I have been doing a lot of research. Many folks report positive experiences with the Timeshare Store and Grandma Jaki at **********.com.
Another note- If they want a smaller contract, Disney is indeed selling 100 pt ones for some resorts now. (for a new member AKV is one of them I know for sure) Some good incentives through Disney direct currently. Do, may want to research and compare. If buying AKV or BLT I would recommend Disney direct.

I used Jamie at the TSS. She was awesome. Helped me through through the process and is very knowledgeable. As for prices, I don't really know. I wanted a small contract, bought 25 points at WL, so I could add on at BLT. She called me when one became available. I think the contracts less than 100 points go very fast. Alot of people use Jaki & **** as well. GMAC has a lot of listings as well. They have an "admin fee" of $195, i think, which makes there prices a lot higher, I know everything is negotiable but it obviously effects what the seller is willing to accept.

I've purchased resales through TTS twice, and absolutely love working with them. They are VERY experienced at all of this, and are great at guiding you through the steps. They're great with e-mail and the 1-800 number, and if your salesperson isn't available, everybody else has access to the info and is equally as helpful.

The prices have dropped a bit, lately, on some resorts - specifically SSR. There is no real way to know if they'll go up or down, but I would guess that now is as good a time as any to find what you want and buy, already.

There are other places I know of that handle DVC resales, but I've only had e-mail conversations with two. They were both great at communicating, but neither had quite what I was looking for, so I can't really give you first hand experience with either. Personally, I'd probably stick with TTS - they're great!

Thanks for the reply. I sent her this link so she can go on and read these posts. She said she called the TimeShare store and asked a few questions and said she liked who she spoke with.

I dealt with Jason. Once I called and Jason wasn't in. I can't remember the name of the person I dealt with - but he was also very helpful and answered all of my questions and left notes for Jason for when he came back.

I was very happy using TSS and if I ever add on.... I will use them without hesitation.

We are in the process of using Grandma Jaki for the third time. We have had great service!

We have used GMAC and TSS. No comparison, TSS hands down:thumbsup2

had wonderful service and great attention to detail when closing and making our offer of purchase. they did everything they could to explain the process of purchasing and how to understand how it all works from beginning to end.
fast feedback and very nice to work with.
as far as the question about the cost of points. we actually made a slightly smaller offer than was listed and it was accepted from the seller.
and from watching the offers over a period of about 3 months the prices of the points fluctuate, although not a great deal, however the amount of points offered and the availability of banked points changes from each and every offer individually. so, just sit back and watch for the amount of points you are waiting for, and contact an agent to let them know about what you are looking for also. then it's just a matter of time to wait for a seller to post the contract that you are looking for.
good luck and happy disneying,
auntboink

We purchased our initial contract through TSS and later sold 2 small add-on. All transactions went very smooth and quick. Their staff are very professional and knowledgeable. :thumbsup2

I purchased 2 resales through Scot from the Timeshare store. Very professional. I was kept in the loop the whole time with emails and phone calls.
Closing was a breeze even though I am in Canada. :thumbsup2

We bought through TSS just last month. They were great, very professional...explained the process the whole way thru.

I have used them for 2 purchases and 1 sale and all went quite smooth. I would say right now is a buyers market. I could now get 150pts for what I paid for 100 pts in Nov 2007. Who knows they might go down more the longer the economy stays in bad shape. If they are secure and have the funds, I say do it now!

We purchased our original contract through Disney and our add-on through TTS. It was just as easy using the TSS. We had watched for awhile and the prices seemed to vary a little within each property, but overall they didn't change dramatically. This was last fall, so we did it thinking how much worse can the economy get?

Purchase went great. They gave me honest advice every step of the way including what a reasonable offer that would get through ROFR would be. Someone always answered the phones and responded to my emails. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend to a friend.
