Thank you!!!Turtle Pond is a lovely area with a quiet pool, bus stop and a seasonal snack bar. If you are looking for privacy on your balcony and mature tropical landscaping this is a great location. Do make sure you think ahead as far as groceries from Conch Flats goes as it might take an hour to wait for a bus to/from to get milk! We've stayed all over OKW and this is our favorite spot.

I agree it makes no sense, however I have a walking disability so I have no choice.Waiting an hour for a bus to go to the HH makes no sense. All buses should stop there before they leave. Plus you could have walked there grabbed the milk and walked back in less than 30 minutes. Getting back would be the issue, but you could walk over to the Peninsular road bus stop and get on the first bus and get off when it makes it to your stop.
I think what Jackal is saying, is that your post sounds like you are waiting for the Internal Loop/Disney Springs bus to get to/from the HH area. You don't have to do so. You can hop on ANY park bus to get to the store, it is always the last stop before they leave the resort. And depending upon the severity of your disability, it is a 750 foot walk (as measured by Google Earth) from the HH area to Peninsular Road bus stop, where you can again hop on any bus to return to your closest bus stop, so it should not take an hour.I agree it makes no sense, however I have a walking disability so I have no choice.
I too have hip and knee issues, and could not book HH at 7 months to stay there. We were at the far end area and I found it quite difficult to get around. What is a short walk for someone walking without pain, can become an ordeal for someone with pain. I was not very familiar with how the busses worked there and the information in these posts wasn't suggested to me by CMs, so I also ended up waiting a long time for the internal loop. I was thinking of a small contract to get me the 11 month window for the HH category as I enjoyed the resort, though I was unable to use the feature pool, and other amenities.I guess we all see things differently, but just to clarify we did have that experience as I had to stop so frequently and rest if there was a bench (again and again) and have since had a TKR (34 staples currently holding my knee together). I'm sorry to insinuate that everyone may have the same bus experience. Take care!
I like buildings 16, 15 or 27.
FYI - A CM recently told me you almost have to book an accessible room to ensure first floor or elevator access as those who truly need it for health reasons are given priority on the very limited elevator rooms. Worth a shot? Thanks everyone. When I called member services she suggested buildings 62/63 1st choice and buildings 23-26 2nd choice. That is what she put in as the request. We shall see what happens.
