For those that eat "diet" bars

I have noticed something since I started eating a couple of the low-carb bars every day - they really must have a lot of the stuff we need in them because on the days that I eat them (generally for breakfast and another around lunch time) I am not hungry ALL day! Its wonderful! But on the days that I don't eat them and eat regular food like eggs for breakfast I am generally starving by mid morning.

The Atkins shakes in the can do the same thing for me too.

Anyone else notice this?
 
What kind of bars (brand) are you eating?? I've been keeping slim fast bars in my car for when the snack attacks happen. Would love to know of some other bars to try.

I eat the carbolite bars and the Atkins bars. They do fill you up and keep you going. My favorite is the Atkins praline bars.
 
YUM!! Atkins praline bar are great!

I know what your talking about, it's the same way for me. I usually have and Atkins shake at breakfast and have no problem with hunger all morning. I love to use the bars as a meal replacement when time and circumstances dictate and have noticed that they are very filling and seem to "stick" with you for hours. The Atkins bar are much better tasting than they use to be, so that's a big plus too!!
 

What kind of shakes have you tried. I tried the vanilla, but didn't care for it.
 
I've tried Atkins Chocolate (my favorite), vanilla, strawberry and cappicino. I like the vanilla mixed in the blender with either a couple tablespoons of peanut butter or a few berries of some sort. The strawberry was ok but but nothing special and the cappicino (sp?) I thought was just plain gross!! Just my opinion.

Peanut butter is good mixed in with the chocolate shake too but don't forget to count the carbs.

The chocolate mocha crunch Atkins bars are pretty tasty too!
 
If you are doing a super low carb diet my favorite bars are the Carbohydrate Solutions bars - 2 carbs. I love the chocolate toffee and the one that is hazlenut.

If you are doing a balanced diet thing I love the ZonePerfect bars. My favorite flavors of those are the Chocolate Peanut Butter (like a crunchy Reese bar), Chocolate Mint (girl scout cookie flavor) and the Apple Cinnamon. The Lemon Yogurt are good too - that is a new one.

I also find if I eat one of these I'm less likely to have a snack attach. I've actually eaten the Zone bars as my dessert on carb addicts - they are super good.
 
The Atkins peanut butter bars are my absolute FAVORITE!! I think everyone else in my area likes them as well because neither the grocery store, Wal-mart, or the local pharmacy seem to be able to keep them in stock.
 
I went to a Walgreens today and the shelves were EMPTY!! The space was there, with the little tag underneath but there were about 8 empty shelves. I did get the Chocolate-almond bars, the small carolite ones, at Sam's club.. 24 bars for $19, not a bad price.
