Unless we get a great deal on a flight....come on SW. We are driving straight through. Those who have done it do you take I75 or the 77/79/95 route??? If you drive through the night where should you not stop. I am terrified of having to stop somewhere at night.

Hi ya Hockeychic,
If you like I can get you a triptik so you can see the best/worst places to stop. We stopped on this side of Pittsburgh going down one year and it was very loud as it was right beside a bar. This was around midnight! That was 8 hours in to our trip.

Hi  We are from Southern Ontario. I went and got the"Dave Hunter" 1-75 book. A great drive right through to Orlando. We always take a couple of days to drive and enjoy it all. A few stops per day to give hubby a rest and time for the 3 females to shop. We have a great drive. Just eat shop and sleep all the way to Disney. :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

We drive all the way through and were from just east of Kitchener. We leave at night and arrive the next night at WDW. We only stop along the way that are really lite up at night and popular restaurants. Like last year we stopped at a McDonalds for breakfast just at the border of Georgia and it was clean and lots of cars around. There was a gas station across the road and it had steady traffic coming from it. We never go far off the I75. Next time we stopped near the edge of Georgia beginning of Florida and it was a Hardees and it was busy and when we got in the place was dirty and I was scared to go to the bathroom (lets just say it won't be one of the stops this year).
Just make sure you lock the vehicle doors and go in pairs you should be okay. The I75 route is popular more in the winter with Canadians because there are no hills and it is safer in the winter with the snow. Have fun! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I like the I75 route as it seems there are just more places to stop for gas, food, etc.

As someone else mentioned, Dave Hunter's book is, by far, the best purchase you will make. You can time your stops and choose the ones that are "larger" with more selection of restaurants, gas bars and washroom facilities.

As always, exercise caution whenever you exit your vehicle - we always go to the restrooms in pairs and rarely leave the vehicle unattended.

I have been doing the drive for many years and I have never felt terrified.

Have fun! :flower1:
