For those of you wondering about my annual MIL Christmas gift thread...

I am still using the towels she cut in half and crocheted the top on with the button flap for a drawer handle.....

I use to BEG my mom to make these when I was in Grade school. My teachers use to give the biggest reactions when I gave them these for christmas.:rotfl:

Honesly I would love some now. Those button things really were handy.

My great aunt made those towels all the time. I would love to have one of them now. Sadly she died 23 years ago this past Thanksgiving. Just the reminder of them invoked so many wonderful memories of a really great lady. When I had my DS my MIL used them all to scrub my house. I was heartbroken.
I want to add Jeanfl I loe your threads about the gifts. I fopund the links for some of them the other day and they just lifted me out of the doldrums I was in. Thank you so much for a good laugh to brighten one's day.

I agree, so many memories and good feelings from the OP, hope you are healing well and I did have tears from the hearty laugh enjoying your threads.

Should really find the instructions to make the kitchen towels and start another generation of giving and new memories to post on DIS in another 20 years. :surfweb:

I was just thinking about you OP on Christmas, wondering what you would receive... can't wait for the list!

I have several of the chrocheted towels. I found that our hospital gift shop sells them as a fundraiser!

Hope all is well with the OP....

Did I somehow miss an update somewhere else on the OP's gifts this year?
Hope her recovery is going well!
:)
