I am sorry, but I do not see a 2007 thread. The 2004 thread was bumped to 2007, but otherwise, I don’t see anything for 2007.

(And note--this did not take too long, my kids are still playing with their toys and mom is vegging out.)

:rotfl:

People said in the other thread that that one was ultimately deleted b/c of responses to it.

Yes, unfortunately she was given such a hard time about it (ungrateful, blah blah blah) so she ended up deleting it. Some people just don't have a sense of humor I guess.

Jill,
I hope you get all the rest you need and your recovery is comfortable. Take care and thanks for thinking of us too!

Happy Healing!

We're looking forward to your thread! My MIL gave us light up scissors. I thought of you when we opened it!

Which really is over the top. It's not like any of them ever say a negative word to the MIL. I think Jill's kids have the world corner on graceful acceptance of totally outrageous gifts. Just think of hte life skills they are gaining. :rotfl:

If anyone gave my teenage son a kitten shirt, I would probably be starting a thred about it. :rotfl:

Cant wait to see what she gets you this year:surfweb:

Eagerly waiting for your 2009 story. :goodvibes

ask and receive. Well, except that's just a post, not a long thread. :)

OMG I am trying to find everything to read, what fun and chuckles until I saw myself, lol.......

Get well soon, and I am excited to read about this years gifting and many more to come.

I will delete if I am hijacking such a wonderful thread, but I realized I may need an intervention.I.may soon be this MIL :santa:
I read through the great past post and realized:
OMG, this woman could have been my mother; and I think it is hereditary!
The flea market, church bazaar, regifting you name it...OH and the free things she had thrown in from mail order gifts.

I have to subscribe to this thread for each year just for the memories and to remember to take the ten step program of gift giving.

Mom passed away a few years ago....that December, brought out from the closet was the infamous box of Christmas Items she had already wrapped and ready for us from the after Christmas sales the year before.
From the beyond we had wonderful laughs and fun....

In all fairness, the raccoon fur covered ice scrapper DID come in handy. As did the little plastic yellow corn trays for cobs, the cats DID love the bags she filled with cat nip and crocheted the yarn tassels on....

DD may finally grow into the size 12 woman’s pink joggers with the fairy on the one leg, she got when she was 7 yrs old.
I am still using the towels she cut in half and crocheted the top on with the button flap for a drawer handle.....

DH still has the opera style binoculars she got for him at nascar races, along with the nail clippers sets in varying types of carriers.

We each have a TP cover in the bathrooms, and a doll with a half body in a cool whip tub on our beds.....They are a lot of work, but one every year?

So earlier this week........
I went in the linen closet to get the beautiful embroidered Christmas table runner she made, and found the Plastic plaid placemats, and 4 oven mitts, two spaghetti scoopers, and one rubber jar opener in a plastic bag from a Christmas past.

I took them out and put them to use, lots of odd looks.....

I fondly looked at the sweatshirt from the casino in Connecticut with wolves she got with her points, still in the box with the hotel moisturizer, soap and shampoo.

But my most wonderful prized possession stands now framed. A 2001 Calendar filled with pain staking sewn beads and bedangles. It matches my Pfaltzcraft pattern of Tea Rose....it was 3/4 of the way through 2002 until it was completed, but it was never meant for real use....it is for my pleasure and memories.

Now, I think I am turning into the MIL,
What kind of Mom, actually buys a cutting board, (Martha Stewart name), cookie sheets, snowmen dish towels, pot holders set and draining mat for her own DIL? ME :rolleyes1 But she needed them!

And son a pair of flannel PJ's, he hates cotton, but they that they are silky feeling? he wears boxers to bed....but it is calling for teen temps in the next few days. every year he says don't buy clothes, BUT, Land's End had 35% off and free overnight shipping, the jacket had a wind cutting liner to it, and could be layered. Besides it can be returned to SEARS and he can get another in his size, get a tool or his money back....at least I had a gift :confused3

DGS, PlayDoh when his mom despises getting it out of the rug, Board games like sorry, candy land and dominoes because he likes BOARD GAMES, how was I to know he meant to play on the Wii fit BOARD....that is board game now?

DH a Wolfgang Puck carving set, he loves good knives, but has yet to carve anything....But it has a blade that goes through the entire handle, fork and box to keep it in, a great HSN or was it QVC buy.

$1 store snow globes I left in the car....it was 10* and they froze...broke, then leaked all over the gift bags I got to pack them in when they came in the warm house.

dd 14 an easybake oven,. she really did want one. and a Barbie, "it is styled just like the original 1950's style I had when young. Oh, and the magic bullet.
Santa crocheted slipper socks.....
And I think I am in real trouble, for all the Ball canning jars with homemade bath salts of Epson Salt and Lavander scent....a piece of gold netting and ribbon around them...?
:flower3:

Disneymarie, I enjoyed your post. :goodvibes I have seen the little holiday towels with the crocheted tops, but I didn't know they could be buttoned on a drawer pull. It makes sense now. :upsidedow

Your mom sounded like she was really thoughtful. You do too.
