What's your favorite case. I need something rugged, but still be able to hear them, some of the reviews for some of the rugged cases have awful ability to hear the caller.

Thanks!

I don't have kids, or an iPhone for that matter :rotfl2: but the most popular rugged cases I know of are Otterbox cases. They have a couple (or few) different types.

Both my kids have iPhone 4's, got them when they came out. Both are kept in Otter box cases. I haven't had to replace one of their phones yet due to dropping or breaking a screen. (Knock on wood for luck) dde0a that's the reason they both still have 4's. Little do they know, they are getting 6's for Christmas! And I ordered Otter box cases for them already. I have a 5c and keep mine in an Otter Box and love it, have no problem hearing on it. My hubby keeps his 5s in a preserver series Otter box. DH is the fire chief at a chemical plant and that phone takes a beating with heat, water & cold & we've yet to replace one of his phones either.

The rule here is you have to have an otter box on your phone (DH and I have them too).

otter box. After he had the phone for about a year, screen cracked. We had it fixed and bought an otter box and he has dropped it many times and no breakage whatsoever. Will always buy the otter box for phone.

DS has a lifeproof on his 6 and DD uses whatever suits her fancy that day for her 5c. She has a lot of cheap cases to choose from that don't protect her phone (she bought phone) and I have told her repeatedly that if she drops her phone and it breaks, we won't be buying a new one for her.

While they don't encase the whole phone I like Speck Cases. They have a slim profile but two layers of protection. They literally bounce when dropped. I've had many iPhones and many Speck cases and have dropped my phones several times, never a scratch. I bought Specks for my 9 year olds iPad Minis they're getting for Christmas.

DD12 and the husband both use otterbox. Otterbox survives the Army and dance classes!

Speck for me and I drop my phone all the time. I tried the Otterbox Defender and Commuter and the rubber parts stretched on both.

Honestly, the iphone is pretty rugged to start with. As long as you don't plan to take it under water, I don't see the need for a case. And, yes, both my daughter and I have iphones with no cases.

I didn't get a case either and then my bulldog got a hold of my phone. :sad1::crazy2:

DH has the otterbox defender series.

Me and my oldest 2 boys have lifeproof cases. (Mine is Mike Wazowski green!)

We're all happy with what we have - the lifeproof is a slimmer case if that makes a difference. My older boys didn't like the otterbox because it made it super bulky to put the phone in their pockets. DH uses the clip for it unless he's in uniform. Then it goes in a pocket.

The otter box is guaranteed. If the rubber gasket stretches, you can get it replaced. Go to their website and it will tell you how.

I have a Lifeproof. My D complains that she doesn't like how I sound with it on but no one else does. It's slimmer than the otter box and is since its waterproof I feel better when I run with it in case it rains.

My dd has an otterbox, which she used for the first 6 months but then her friend gave her a special case with a gymnastics picture on it and she never uses the otterbox anymore. She says it's clunky (which it is) but I'm more worried about paying for a phone that is no good anymore than I am about how clunky it is. How important would you consider this? She does drop her phone and she is 14.

I've taken advantage of the Otterbox warranty and it is a very easy process. I don't however have any desire to buy a product that I'm going to have to replace. Two different models, same thing happened. I'm done with the company until they change their materials.

My parents got me an iPhone 4 last September, and I was adamant that I needed an Otterbox case. I got the Defender case, and my dad got the Commuter. I've had my Defender case on my phone since I got it, and the case is just now starting to show wear. The rubber is tearing on a few of the flaps, and there's one chip on the base. I was not as impressed with the Commuter case. One side of the rubber never seems to sit properly, but it's been fine for my dad and my mom, who now has the case. I have dropped my phone once or twice, but it has absolutely no damage.

I'm a fan of the Otter box cases. I have one for my iPhone 5c. My son has one for his iPhone 6. He purchased a second less rugged case too, to my dismay. He got it because it doesn't cover up the phone so much (He got a gold one and likes to see the color). I'm fearful, though, that he'll damage it and I didn't buy insurance. With the Otter box which he used with previous phones I had no worries. (On the insurance deal -- the phone was a gift for him and he thought we should buy the insurance, I said no, that I'd self insure it if it's damaged. We haven't had problems before and the insurance seems overly pricey to me for the risk. But I will be sad if I have to fork out for another phone.)
