For those of you who are going or have been in December...

I went in December for the first time last year. The main reason I wanted to go was to see the decorations. Once I decided to go and did the research I really wanted to go the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (I think that is the name) after that I wanted to see it snow on main street.

We had not planned to do the Osbourne light show but loved it (don't eat the snow, a police officer (actor) warned me about this after it was too late).

We (me, my husband and daughter) went the first time during the holidays in 2002. We loved the Very Merry Christmas Party. They serve hot chocolate and cookies and we had a Christmas story time with Belle by the castle. My daughter was in it and my husband was ask to play the Beast. The holidays are special. We loved it so much that we went back in 2004 and are going back this year. We go the second week in Dec. The lines are so short (5 to 10 minutes) and outside of the first year, the weather great! The pools at the resorts are heated, so my daughter loved to swim even though it was a little cool. I would definitely recommend going during the Christmas holiday. Parades and decorations are holiday themed, and wonderful. Prior to 2002 we always went during Spring Break and it is so crowded. Not fun for toddlers to have to wait so long for things!

I love that time of year. We resort-hop to see all the decorations. The lights at MGM are fun. DTD looks great. We went to MVMCP last year for the first time; we were not impressed. It was so crowded you could barely move. But we LOVE the overall atmosphere and the decorations.

CP is amazing. If we are ever fortunate enough to be able to go that time of year again we will do the CP package. It is a very moving experience. Even the kids enjoyed it.

We love resort hopping to see the decorations. We make many ADRs in the resorts just to get to see them.

We also enjoyed Osbourne lights and the tree lighting ceremony in Epcot. I wish they would return the tree lighting ceremony back to the performers with the huge instrument, does anyone else remember that?

We did not like MVMCP but that may be b/c the night before was rained out so it was so crowded lines were over 1 hr. long in fanatasy land. We loved the parade but kept thinking we paid a lot of money to just see a parade. I think that was an unusual circumstance though.

We also enjoyed resort hopping. Each hotel is decorated with a different theme, they are so beautiful! I also am not a fan of the MVMCP, very crowded and we didn't get to do anything but see the parade, which was pretty much the same as the daytime one just with lights. But I would suggest the candlelight processional in Epcot and the Osbourne lights, they were both very cool. Also at Epcot, there are stories about every 20 minutes or so about how each country celebrates the holidays, very cute!

We went the week before Christmas 2004 and my favorites were:

The Candlelight Processional
The MK Christmas Parade (MVMCP was no longer taking place)
The Osborne Lights
The Holiday story tellers in each country of EPCOT.
Viewing the decorations at the Grand Floridian.

Top 3 things...hmmm let's see.

1. MVMCP (especially if you have young ones, but not too young so that they can make it the whole evening)
2. Osborne Lights
3a. Tour the Deluxe Resorts and take pics in front of their trees.
3b. Candlelight Processional (if Gary Sinise is reading)
3c. Early morning walk on the Boardwalk with the holiday music playing on the speakers.

Grand Floridian -- Hands down. The Gingerbread House is beautiful.

My number one, all time favorite holiday activity, hands down, is the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.

The decorations at the Grand Floidian are beautiful, but so are the decorations at the Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Beach Club. If you are going to the Magic Kingdom, the GF would probably be easiest for you to access b/c the monorail stops right there (if you get on the resort monorail).

Enjoy, it's just beautiful to walk around WDW during the Holidays.
