What did you have to put down as a down payment on the ressie?? Did you have to put the whole amount on your CC? And what exactly is the cancelation penalty if you can't go or change your mind?

I haven't put anything down yet, I have 2 weeks to do that. I'll pay the balance off the day it's due (and not a day sooner! )

$200 down...no penalty if you cancel before a certain amount of days before the trip...I think it's 45.

$200 (on the Disney Visa because I booked on Monday 4/9). Balance due sometime in July.

$200 deposit

cancellations:
<45 days $0 penalty
45-7 days $100 penalty
7-0 days $200 penalty

I did not have to put anything down today when I added the free dining. A $200 deposit is due April 24th and then the balance is due on Aug. 5th. This is for ressie's for Sept. 19th-25th.

If you booked the free dining promo when it was open to disney visa cardholders you had to put the deposit on your disney visa (to prove that you had the disney visa)
Now that the promo is open to the general public, you don't have to use the disney visa
