I ordered the wooden one because it looked more like we thought our brick might look like...we haven't seen our actual brick yet....

i honestly don't know! this is a much harder decision than i thought it would be. from the beginning, i thought acrylic. but then i saw the wooden one, and i changed my mind! but my DH still likes the acrylic better. i like the wood more because i think it'll go better with what we have in our family room...but DH likes the acrylic cause he said it stands out more like a trophy/award.

it took me over a week to figure out what to put on the brick, and now it'll probably take me another week or so to figure out "wood or acrylic?"

the actual brick won't be laid down until february of next year (at least that's what i was told...orders taken now thru october will be laid down in february)...so we won't see our brick when we are there in october, but it'll be there for our next trip (which will hopefully be next april or may...to celebrate dd's 3rd bday).

I have two bricks but didn't get the replicas when I ordered them. Instead, I took a closeup photo of my brick then cut it out. Next, I had a friend cut out a piece of wood a little larger but the same shape as the brick photo and stain it. Then, I decoupaged the photo to the wood piece. Tada! I have my own replica!

interestingly enough, dh has put all the planning of this trip into my hands. and now that i have to decide on the replica (not that it's actually going to be part of this trip), he wants to have a say in the decision-making! i am still thinking about it. i'd like to order my brick and replica by the end of this week!

yep, you can get both (1 wood, 1 acrylic). you'll just pay $35 twice to get 2 replicas instead of 1!

Since it won't be laid down by the time you get there why not just wait till you get to DLR and order it when you are there?

good idea! i mean, what the likelihood of them running out of bricks, right? it seems that they have been saying that there are limited quantities left for a few years now!
