we're from southern Ontario and the most direct route is to take I-75 straight down to the FL Turnpike then on to WDW. Does anyone know the driving time difference if we were to by-pass the turnpike?

To completely bypass the turnpike and take US 27 would add 1-2 hours to the trip in fairly light traffic. We have taken the turnpike to 27, that way was about 30 minutes longer. There still was a toll of $1.50 or so.

Not worth it to save $3 or $4 in my opinion.

And there wouldn't be a savings once you factor in the gas.
