I actually have a question for the women runners who have been or currently are pregnant. Let me start off by saying I am not pregnant but my husband and I have been discussing our plans of when to start trying. I am registered for the Wine & Dine and the WDW Marathon (as my first full). I know it's safe to continue running during pregnancy. I'm curious how many out there have run an event while pregnant? 5k, 10k, half or full? Any advice or thoughts you could share? Should these runs even be attempted while pregnant or would it be best to wait?

TIA!

I'm in constant hope of such a thing happening , and now that I'm a regular runner I've decided that I would keep on running/jogging. That if I could physically do an event I'd already signed up for, I would. That I would walk it if necessary.

There have been Elite women who ran full events nearly to the end of their pregnancies!

It just depends on the woman and the pregnancy. My first it was ok to exercise until 29 weeks. My second was risky from the start. Honestly I recovered better from the first baby than the second. Partly due to better fitness and partly because my labor was better. There's a reason we stopped at two!
Hoping for healthy pregnancies for you both, and soon. ;)

Such a simple thing for you to say, but it meant a lot to me. I'm rapidly aging and most of my friends think I'm insane for still wanting another baby. We've been trying for ages and at the same time we're not into getting extra help from medicine (if we could even afford it). And my husband travels for work. :scared:

I don't hear that sort of sentiment often in "real" life. And it really touched me, that you would say that. Thank you. :goodvibes

I've had two friends do half marathons while pregnant. One was 12 weeks and one was almost 20. Both were pretty consistent runners pre-pregnancy and their doctors said it should not be a problem to continue their running routine.
